The Lie of the French Revolution

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

AlhamduliLlah I’m happy to be here again after so many years, but it seems like not so much ago. AlhamduliLlah every time we come, we think of coming to Paris, but we go to other places in France. This is an important place for human beings, as they say, they are guiding human beings for what they thought is for the good thing, but actually it is only for guiding the ego of people. They are guiding with fashion and so. This is not so important.

It’s just like so that people can change, so that they can every time put a different thing [clothes] on themselves. But it is for the ego; to make your ego happier. They are trying too much to find different things, but in the end they cannot find. They are just showing people something: “This is new. You must be happy with this.” And people are happy because they’re addressing their ego. When you address somebody’s ego, he becomes very happy. You say, “Oh, you are very nice. You are very clever.” “Oh, yes!” he says and becomes very happy.

There’s a famous story that Mawlānā was every time telling. It’s very good for these fashion people. Mawlānā said he read this when he was young in school. There was one King who was asking for a dress that has never been dressed by anyone. And every time a new tailor comes, he is not happy with him. They brought the best material, the best tailor but he was never happy. He said, “No. I want something that nobody has ever had.” So many people came. Then, two crooked people heard about this. They quickly made a plan. They came from some place with a horse carriage carrying something. They said, “We heard a King wants a dress that nobody has. We brought our machine to do something special for the king, with special material. But it costs too much, so maybe only the King can afford it.”

When the King heard this, he was very happy. He called them, “Come! Tell me what you will do with this material.” They came and told the King, “Oh we are very professional. We made this material with threads from the moon. So, we need one big room to move our machine to. And this will take a very long time; one year or more. So we will work on this every day, working hard to finish it in one year. But this is a special material. Only clever people can see this material. So, who’s an idiot cannot see it. And we also need too much money and gold for this. You must give us. Every time we need money, gold, you must send us.”

So, the King was very happy and excited, “Okay, start quickly! Whatever you want you can have.” They began to work. During daytime, they started to act as if they are tailoring the material. They make like this, like that, sounds coming out. The King was sometimes passing by, looking at them asking how it’s going. They would say, “Very good!” The King told his people, “I finally found somebody. I like them because they are using a special material that no one has in this world.” After one year, they said, “We’ve finished. And we will dress you this dress and show it on you.”

So, in the end, they made him naked. The King was all naked. They cheated him saying that only clever ones can see this material. He took off his clothes and they put on him the so-called dress and said, “Oh! You look very good! It looks amazing on you!” He cannot say “I am an idiot; I cannot see it.” They asked the King, “How is it? Are you happy with it?” He said he will take his clothes and go marching between people to make people see it and get very excited with this material that nobody has. So, he dedicated a day for this demonstration.

He rode his horse and went between people. People cannot say they are idiots, but many were saying, “He is seeing the dress; I’m an idiot, I cannot see it. But I cannot say out loud that I can’t see it.” So everybody was saying that it is perfect. They started saying, “We’ve never seen anything like this!” And he continued marching around people. Only in the end, there was one boy who was looking but didn’t understand what’s going on. He yelled, “The King is naked!” Then, everybody understood the truth. The King became very angry. He said, “Bring this kid quickly to cut his head off!” But he was very clever that he ran away.

This is fashion. They make people wear rubbish yet people are happy, “This comes from a famous man in fashion. It comes from a famous fashion house.” So, they are cheating people like this. They are cheating them by making people laugh at each other. But this is a small problem that existed before and is still going on. Mawlānā Shaykh was becoming very angry every time he heard France. Why? Because of the French Revolution. This revolution destroyed humanity. For this Mawlānā was not happy with that. Because it is it was a lie from beginning to end. Fashion and so is like playing. It is not destroying people. It’s just making people laugh at each other. They are stealing their money; they take money from them. But the worst thing is to destroy humanity with killing, with every bad thing they’ve done.

One of these lies is that about this Queen or wife of a King, Antoinette. The French people said, “We are hungry. We cannot find bread to eat.” She said, “Let them eat cake.” It was a lie a hundred percent. And even now I see, when you go everywhere, France is full of wheat and meat. You have everything. Historians say, in that time, the French farmer was ten times better than the English one. And they said, “But they were still killing people there.” So when they went to Bastille to free the people there. There were only seven people. You’d think they will be so thin like bone and skin. But no. They found only seven people there and they weren’t skinny; they were fat.

So, from day one, they were against humanity. This is what Mawlānā was not happy with. And unfortunately – although this revolution was finished in France because they destroyed religion and destroyed the monarchy, it continued in the whole world. Especially in Muslim countries, it isn’t finished. The French Revolution didn’t finish in the world. Bad actions are still going and going on; not stopping. This will only stop with Sayyidina Al-Mahdi ‘alayhi s-salām.

All this oppression you see in the world is from the revolution in France. They destroyed all kings, all sultans; especially the Caliph of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. They destroyed Khilāfah (the Caliphate) and they threw sultans off their thrones. The thing they are against the most is Sultans and Kings. Because they cannot play as they like. When there’s no sultan, no monarchy, no kings, they can do whatever they want. They say we make elections. And in elections they can do what they like. They can bring anyone they like. And they can throw out anyone they like. It is a big play going on.

But this is not forever. There will be an end for this also with Sayyidina Al-Mahdi ‘alayhi s-salām, in shā’a Llāh. And we are not doing anything that’s forbidden for us to do, because everything is under their control. So no need to lead people to danger, or to think that you are a hero and can do anything. That will be only with Sayyidina Al-Mahdi ‘alayhi s-salām, in shā’a Llāh. And in shā’a Llāh, it is not far. We’ve reached the end, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ keep you and keep us safe, in shā’a Llāh. And to reach these good days, and in shā’a Llāh, to see the end of this oppression, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
