Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

In shā’a Llāh, our gathering will be of benefit for all of us, in shā’a Llāh, and all Muslims, in shā’a Llāh. We will speak in English and you’ll translate into German, in shā’a Llāh, because Turks here also understand German. So, in shā’a Llāh, it be of benefit for all of us.
We are here for the sake of Allāh ﷻ. We are coming and gathering here only for the sake of Allāh ﷻ. There isn’t any benefit for dunyā. Our intention must be like this. In everything you do, you must intend for it to be purely for Allāh ﷻ. When you do this in everything you do, Allāh ﷻ rewards you for every breath, every minute and every second. He ﷻ rewards you and He ﷻ will be happy with you.
Mawlānā was saying this every time; and this saying is from great men. “إِلَهِي أَنْتَ مَقْصُوْدِي وَرِضَاكَ مَطْلُوْبِي”, “Ilahi Anta maqsudi wa Ridaka matlubi”, “O, my Lord! You are my objective and Your Pleasure is my request.” “O my Lord, You are my aim and Your pleasure, Your happiness is my wish; it’s what I want.” Mawlānā was his whole life following this saying. And until the end of his life, he was following the same promise; not saying anything else.
Many people or scholars who seek people’s pleasure, leave the way of Allāh ﷻ in order to make people happy and say, “Okay, we made these people happy with us.” Mawlānā Shaykh never followed or did anything to make people happy and make Allāh ﷻ unhappy. Everything he did was according to the way of Allāh ﷻ, to make Allāh ﷻ happy with him. Because he was the successor of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. He’s going on the same way; no any difference, nothing against this way.
This is the way our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, and his ﷺ successors: Sayyidinā Abu Bakr, Omar, Osman and ‘Ali. They were all in this way and continued on this way. When Sayyidinā Omar came after Sayyidinā Abu Bakr, he ascended the Minbar and addressed people saying, “If you see anything wrong coming from me, outside of this way, not straight, make me straight with your sword.”
For this, we do not accept if anybody says, “I’m from ṭarīqah. You can do this,” about something unacceptable in sharī’ah and against what Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says – we never accept this. Because all people coming to ṭarīqah are seeing what ṭarīqah is. AlhamduliLlah, Mawlānā Shaykh was saying and showing people the right way. But sometimes some people come and cheat others. They say something that’s not according to sharī’ah.
For this, you must be careful. You must use your mind; is what he said good or not good. If have some doubt, you must ask the Wakil (representative of Mawlānā), you must ask those who are more knowledgeable than you. We are all human beings. This can happen. So, we like to say this to people in order not to be cheated. Of course, this doesn’t happen every day; maybe it never happened. And in shā’a Llāh, it never happens but sometimes we hear some things like this.
Even in the time of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, many liar (false) prophets appeared. And the most famous one was named “Musaylima al-Kadhab”, “Musaylima the Liar.” He married one woman who also claimed she’s a Prophet. And as her Nikah Mahr (marriage gift), he said, “I give you all my prayers as Mahr. There’s no need for our nation to pray anymore.” And those following him weren’t ten, fifteen, a hundred or a thousand; no, there were more than two hundred thousand people following him and fighting for him. It was a big fitnah.
For this, we say that even in the time of our Prophet ﷺ people were easily cheated and followed such ones. For this, we are warning people not to accept anybody who’s not following sharī’ah. Some people come and say, “I am Mahdi.” And some people accept them. There was one boy in Istanbul 30 or 40 years ago. He was coming to the ṣuḥbah gathering of Mawlānā Shaykh, and he cheated maybe half of the young boys.
They went with him, and he claimed he is ‘Isa ‘alayhi s-salām. For this, be careful. Especially nowadays, there is what’s worse than that: the internet. They are showing themselves as if they are representatives of us and for ṭarīqah. They take a picture and go around saying, “I am the closest one to Shaykh. I am the most knowledgeable. I am the most beloved one for him,” and after that, they cheat people.
For this, our duty is to tell people – from the beginning we’ve been saying – be with good people who are not using ṭarīqah or other to cheat people. It is really – Allāh ﷻ will punish them. Allāh ﷻ will punish them, in shā’a Llāh. This is shayṭān’s work. He will do this. Shayṭān is still there, he can cheat every time. But you must be careful, and know the way of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.
When the Archbishop of Istanbul invited Mawlānā Shaykh, the archbishop asked him, “When will these problems be finished?” Mawlānā said, “When shayṭān retires.” He will never retire, he’s never tired, never fed up. He’s every day over your head. But Allāh ﷻ says, ‘إِنَّ كَيْدَ الشَّيْطَانِ كَانَ ضَعِيفًا’, ‘Inna kayda l-shayṭāni kana dha‘īfā’, ‘Indeed, the plot of Satan has ever been weak.’ (Qur’ān 04:76). Allāh ﷻ says, the plan of shayṭān is weak. So, in shā’a Llāh, may Allāh ﷻ keep us safe from his plots.
May Allāh ﷻ bless you, in shā’a Llāh. Masha’Allah we came again to this place. AlhamduliLlah. AlhamduliLlah. May Allāh ﷻ make you more and more in this dergah, mosque. It’s a good place for human beings. May Allāh ﷻ bring good people, change any bad character if you have, give us love towards each other, and make them teach the good thing here. May Allāh ﷻ give Shaykh Hassan a long life. He is a sincere one. But sometimes some people cheat him; but not with belief alhamduliLlah, just with some things. Masha’Allah this building and the other building is all through his effort alhamduliLlah.
Today I was remembering. I told AbdulMalik about Shaykh Hassan. He was in Damascus, of course. There was one old house in front of the Mosque in Damascus, Mawlānā Shaykh’s maqām. The maqām was very small; it’s like here or even smaller than this part. So, Shaykh Hassan gave this house [near the mosque] and they made the mosque bigger. They made it wider alhamduliLlah.
They not only made the mosque bigger; they even build a big kitchen down where they were feeding people throughout the 15 years of war. All kinds of people were coming. Two thousand people, rich and not rich, were coming every day to eat there. May Allāh ﷻ bless all of you. In shā’a Llāh, may Allāh ﷻ make you do what He ﷻ likes you to do. May He ﷻ open for each of you who has the intention to make a maqām, to make charity, to make a good thing for human beings, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
