A True Muhammadan Inheritor

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

AlhamduliLlah we meet again; Allāh ﷻ has given us life. Time is passing by very quickly. It’s been seven years now since we’ve been here in Holland. It’s our duty to call people, to go and see them, to bring them to ṭarīqah, to Islām. But as we are human beings, we cannot be the whole time together. Of course, when many people have a holiday, the summer holiday, they pass by Istanbul, they greet us and they go to their villages or to their cities. Of course, maybe five percent of the Jama’ah or less do this. But most of them are here; they cannot be with us or cannot see us.

For this, alhamduliLlah, we thank Allāh ﷻ that we meet again. This is the duty of prophets, all prophets: to travel and call people. We are imitating them. We are imitating them and making a Sunnah. Allāh ﷻ gives us reward and spiritual power for this. Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, when anyone from Muslims visits his Muslim brother, Allāh ﷻ rewards him for each step one reward, removes one sin and raises him one level higher. And this is, of course, for most of you. Because they came to visit their Muslim brother and they are also Muslim, so Allāh ﷻ gives most of them reward, in shā’a Llāh.

And this is also a Sunnah that Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim was doing all his life. And in the last nearly 25 years, he was coming to Europe and traveling around on a journey. Ever since Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh gave him Ijāzah to be Shaykh, he was traveling all the time. Of course, each of Awliyā’u Llāh, mashāyikh has a different practicing. Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh was never travelling. Most of the time, he was in Damascus. He also went to Madīnah, Makkah and Madīnah to make Khalwah (seclusion) and make ḥajj. But when he first began with him, he sent him to Cyprus to call people to ṭarīqah and to make them follow the way of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.

For this, in shā’a Llāh, we try to follow his way and he supports us. This day, alhamduliLlah, was the day of the birth of Mawlānā Shaykh: 21st of April. When he was born, Shaykh Sharafuddīn ad-Dāghestānī was alive in 1922. He told Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh, by the karāmah of Awliyā’u Llāh, “Today one of our sons came to this world. He will be a great servant for ṭarīqah, for sharī’ah, for Islām. Thousands of people will come to Islām through him.” AlhamduliLlah. Mawlānā Shaykh Sharafuddīn ad-Dāghestānī even described his face and how he will be, exactly on the day of birth of Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim.

Masha’Allah, Mawlānā Shaykh in nearly a hundred years, with Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh’s teachings and all those teachings – there has never been anyone who has as his knowledge, as his high station. Sometimes we see Mashāyikh or we see people who have something hidden or something showing, something they know or they don’t know. But Mawlānā Shaykh, Masha’Allah, everything was perfect for him; from science, sharī’ah, ṭarīqah. He was the top in all of this. “وارث محمَّدي حقيقي”, “Wārith Muhammadi Haqīqi,” “A True Muhammadan Inheritor.” AlhamduliLlah, he was never saying, “I am tired of seeing people.” He was, until his last days, receiving people, teaching them, speaking to them and praying for them.

He was every day saying, “My intention is to destroy Kufr. This is my niyyah, my intention.” He was every day repeating this. And this good intention is a good teaching for us. Because intention is important and Allāh ﷻ rewards for it. This is also a teaching for us to get reward. Because, “نِيَّةُ المَرْءِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ”, “Niyyatu l-mar’i khayrun min ʿamalih.” “The intention of a person is better than his deed.” [Ḥadīth]. The intention of man, or somebody is better than his deeds.

He was also intending and saying to make forty thousand Zāwiyah, Dergah. Because the Dergah, Zāwiyah or mosque is a shelter for believers, to collect people together. All ṭarīqahs have a place for gathering for people to know each other, and to listen to the Murshid, Shaykh. And that’s to know each other and be closer to each other. And this can only be in this way. Because Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, Mu’mins are like one body, if any part has something [harm], the whole body suffers from it. So, they can know what others are in need of or what must be done.

Everything, every good teaching is done in the Dergah and Zāwiyah. And people get to know each other. Because many people don’t know, so if anyone asks something, they will never believe or follow. But in the Zāwiyah or Dergah, they know each other. For this, they can help each other. And they must teach the good thing. They can ask what is right, and what is not right. Because many people claim something about Islām, but it is not in Islām; and this makes people run away from Islām. So in the Dergah, they teach what’s right.

Of course, now, the most important thing for this time – people are asking about the situation in the world; what happened, what will happen. What you must do is: don’t believe most of the things you see or what they tell about what’s happening. You must just be calm. Because many of the shayṭān people try to make Muslims angry, making them to go to the streets, destroying, throwing stones, shouting and so on. After that, it will turn out to be a play, and it won’t be good for these people. This is the teaching of non-Muslims.

Mawlānā Shaykh says, every time a Muslim is unhappy, go to the mosque. And make tasbih, make du’ā’ for Allāh ﷻ to support what you want support in and to keep you safe. But now when you say this, they become angry, “You are not supporting.” What you support – now is the shayṭān’s time.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, “وَلَا تُلْقُوا بِأَيْدِيكُمْ إِلَى التَّهْلُكَةِ”, ‘Wa Lā Tulqū Bi’aydīkum ‘Ila t-Tahlukah’, ‘And do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction [by refraining].’ (Qur’ān 02:195). Don’t throw yourself in danger. So if you make trouble, it will be dangerous for you and there will be no benefit for you. Everything happens by the will of Allāh ﷻ. And this time is the end of times. Not any weapon can stop this, only Sayyidina Al Mahdi ‘alayhi s-salam, in shā’a Llāh. Because everything must be with Allāh’s ﷻ wisdom and guidance. Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam was hiding until the time came for him ﷺ to appear and call people.

For this, everything our ‎Prophet ﷺ teaches, ṭarīqah people are following. This time is the end of times, the time of Fitnah. For this, we are advising our people, ṭarīqah people to keep quiet and to pray, make du’ā’ for Allāh ﷻ to save us, to save the whole world, in shā’a Llāh. Allāh ﷻ says, ‘فَاصْبِرْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ’, ’Fāşbir ‘Inna Waada Allāhi Ĥaqq’, ‘So be patient (O Muhammad SAW). Verily, the Promise of Allāh is true.’ (Qur’ān 30:60).

Allāh ﷻ says, be patient, what Allāh ﷻ promised is true. And the “Waad”, promise of Allāh ﷻ is that the whole world will be in Islām, in shā’a Llāh. This is the only way of safety for humanity. They tried everything, they tried everything good or bad. All of them tried. They killed millions of people, they tortured people, oppressed people. The tried many systems; none of them one worked. The only way to save humanity is Islām. In shā’a Llāh, the believer, Mu’min must believe in this and not be hopeless. When you know this, you’ll be satisfied and you’ll be rewarded because you are waiting for relief (opening) from Allāh ﷻ.

May Allāh ﷻ make these days come soon, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
