Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic Hijri calendar, known as the Month of the Ummah. Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Adilق said, “These three months are blessed months. Especially, the month of Ramadan. Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla granted more beauties to it, as it is the month of the Ummah. Wherever you are, you feel that beauty, everywhere.”

The sign of a believer, is the feeling of joy and anticipation at the approach of Ramadan. The sign of a hypocrite, is dread and agitation. Ramadan is the month in which every Sunnah act is counted as Fardhu, and every Fardhu worship is significantly multiplied. The Sahabah would complete all worldly matters in Sha‘ban, giving undivided attention to Ramadan. They also paid their Zakatul Mal in the last days of Sha‘ban so the poor would have the means to prepare for this month.

Ramadan is not a month for worldly indulgence or idleness. It is a month of tilawatul Qur’an, qiyamul lail, tarawih, sahoor and iftar (in moderation), night vigils, and iktikaf. It is a month to return to the purity of a newborn child, Eidul Fitri. The Prophet ﷺ said, “My curse be upon the one who reached Ramadan but did not attain Allah ﷻ’s forgiveness within it.” He ﷺ also described the month: “Mercy is its beginning, forgiveness its middle, and salvation from the Fire its end.”

Among the many blessed dates this month, the following are the most significant:

  • The Night of Allah ﷻ’s Gaze & Mawlid of Sayyid Sultan al-Awliya Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani – Eve of Ramadan after Maghrib/ 18th February 2026
  • Urs of Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah al-Faiz ad-Daghestani – 3 Ramadan after Maghrib/ 21st February 2026
  • Nuzul al-Qur’an & Battle of Badr 16 Ramadan after Maghrib / 6th March 2026
  • Last 10 Nights (iktikaf begins) – 18 Ramadan after Maghrib / 8th March 2026
  • Laylatul Qadr (of the Masses) – 26 Ramadan after Maghrib / 16th March 2026
  • Night of Eid (Night of Rewards) – 29 or 30 Ramadan / 19th or 20th March 2026

*Dates may vary from country to country depending on local moon sightings. Kindly follow your local authority where applicable.

For simplicity and consistency, the dates mentioned here follow Mawlanaق’s calendar.

InsyaAllah, Ramadan 1447H is expected to begin after Maghrib this Wednesday, 18th February 2026.

Wednesday, 18th February

Eve of Ramadan, the Night of Allah ﷻ’s Gaze.

Thursday, 19th February/ 1 Ramadan

1st Ramadan, Fasting begins.

Rasulullah ﷺ said, “On the Day of Judgment, a group from my nation will be given wings and will arrive at the walls of Paradise. The gatekeepers of Paradise will ask them, ‘Who are you?’ They will reply, ‘We are from the nation of Muhammad ﷺ.’

The Angels will ask, ‘Have you been judged?’ They will reply, ‘No.’ The Angels will ask, ‘Have you crossed the Bridge of Sirat?’ They will reply, ‘No.’ The Angels will ask, ‘How did you attain this rank?’ They will reply, ‘By the command of our Lord ﷻ, we used to practise a secret form of worship, which is fasting, and He brought us here by hidden paths.’”

— Hajja Amina Adil Sultanق, The Hidden Rewards and Spiritual Realities of Fasting

Here are the Recommended Daily Devotions for the month of Ramadan (PDF with clickable links):

Fasting with Intention

Complete Daily Adab & Awrad

1 Juz of the Holy Quran

1 Hizb of Dalailul Khayrat

Complete 20 rakaat of Tarawih & 3 rakaat of Witr each night (Read the Daily Virtues & Rewards here)

  • If praying in congregation, make it easy for others and keep Surahs short.

Increase Salawat, Zikrullah & Duʿas

First 10 Days: Days of Mercy

  • Recite abundantly: “Allahummar Hamna ya Arhamar Rahimeen.”
  • Seek Allah ﷻ’s mercy for yourself and others.

Middle 10 Days: Days of Forgiveness

  • Recite abundantly: “Astaghfirullaha Rabbi min kulli dhanbin wa atubu ilaih.
  • Focus on repentance, reflection, and acts of worship.

Last 10 Days: Days of Salvation

  • Recite abundantly: “Allahumma innaka a’fuwwun tuhibbul a’fwa fa’fu ‘anni.”
  • Increase night vigils, dhikr, and iktikaf.

Seek Laylatul Qadr Every Night

  • As Mawlana Shaykh Nazimق said, treat every person as Sayyidina Khidr (AS) and every night as Laylatul Qadr.
  • Laylatul Qadr can occur anytime, so begin your search from the very start of Ramadan. Angels descend with different and amazing blessings and gifts each night of Ramadhan.
  • Therefore, we are encouraged to wake up in the last third of the night for prayers, sahoor, and Fajr.

Wake Up Earlier for Tahajjud before Sahoor (Pre-Dawn Meal)

  • Sleep early after Tarawih and rise before Fajr for extra blessings.
  • The Prophet ﷺ said, “The two rakaats before Fajr is worth more than the world and its riches.”
  • Qur’an can be read at any time, but especially between Tahajjud and Fajr, it is extra special and blessed as, “Angels gather to witness the reading.” (Qur’an 17:78)
  • Perform at least two rakaats of Shukr Prayer each night.
  • On days you are not working the next morning, do try to wake up a little earlier.
  • If you are praying Fajr at home, perform the Azan before beginning the prayer. Make the Azan clearly and audibly each time you pray at home, for the greater the Azan is proclaimed, the greater the reward. Mercy descends when Azan is made.

⑨ Increase in Charity and Distributing Zakat (Alms)

SufiHub (Naqshbandi ‘Aliyyah A’Posh Singapore) will be distributing Zakat to countries in need and organizing a collective qurban for Laylatul Qadr at the maqam of Grandshaykh Abdullahق in Syria.

You may join our Telegram channel for further details and updates.

⑩ Make abundant du’as, especially before Iftar (Breaking Fast)

Allah ﷻ said: “Near the end of time, I will send a Prophet named Muhammad ﷺ to a weak nation, and I will command them to fast one month each year. Every evening before they break their fast, I will send down mercy and grace upon them, leaving only the veil of death between them and Me.”

Make intention for iktikaf, especially in the last 10 nights

Keep your heart connected to Mawlanaق

Eat and sleep moderately, avoiding unnecessary talk and distractions

Beware of foul odours in the house, for these cause the Angels to avoid coming to our homes

Maintain cleanliness and fragrance in your clothing, your bodies, and especially your mouths at all times.

Wednesday, 4th March/ 14 Ramadan

Night of 15th Ramadan.

On this night, the 3 rakaat witr is split into two parts: 2 rakaat and 1 rakaat, in honour of reaching the middle of Ramadan.

This night also commemorates:

As we are halfway through the month, we are reminded to settle our Zakat.

Hajja Amina Adil Sultanق said:

“This fitra is similar to the sajda al-sahw, the prostration of forgetfulness, which is performed when one has committed an error in prayer or forgotten to perform one of its parts. Just as this sajda completes one’s prayer, so the fitra perfects the fasting of Ramadan. It makes up for all mistakes and breaches of the fast we might have committed: one unlawful glance, a mistaken word, or a bad thought.

Fasting has two wings, one being our fasting, the other being the fitra. If we neglect to give the fitra, our fast remains suspended in mid-air and cannot rise aloft to the Divine Presence. When we have given our fitra, we provide our fasting with its second wing and it then reaches the Throne of the Almighty.”

From this night onwards, we may begin reciting the Farewell Ramadan Poem each night.

The Angels then remain upon the Earth until Fajr after the Night of Power.

It is also the night preceding the Battle of Badr, during which the Prophet ﷺ spent the night in fervent and heartfelt duʿas.

On this night, we are encouraged to recite the 313 names of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ, the Ahlul Badr.

This blessed night is also the Urs of Sayyidatina Aishaر, Beloved Wife of the Prophet ﷺ.

The Holy Prophet ﷺ spoke, ‘Whoever fasts the six days of Shawwal will be rewarded with the number of things the Almighty has created in these six days.’ And death will be for the one who has fasted the six days of Shawwal, as a drink of cool water on a hot summer’s day.”

— Hajja Amina Adil Sultanق, The Six Days of Shawwal

The best days to fast these 6 days are immediately after Eid (2nd Shawwal onwards), though you may fast any time in Shawwal.

Wednesday, 1st April/ 12 Shawwal

On the 1st of April, Hajja Aminaق taught us to collect the first rainwater of April in large pots, bowls, containers, then save it and drink in small amounts with du’a as needed.

“The most precious month of spring is April, and there is wisdom and reasons for that month being so special. It has been selected to have such a quality because the Seal of the Prophets ﷺ, the Most Beloved One for whose honor all was created, was born in April!

If it did not rain in April, the Earth would dry out and nothing more would grow on it!

When those drops of April’s rain fall, even fish in the oceans come up, opening their mouths to reach just one drop of that blessed rain and waiting at the ocean’s surface. Allahu Akbar, all of Creation is waiting to reach those Divine Waves of Mercy!”

— Mawlana Shaykh Nazimق

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 2nd to 4th April/ 13 to 15 Shawwal

These days are known as the White Days, during which it is Sunnah to fast.

This practice originates with Sayyidina Adam (AS). After he began eating the food of this world, his skin darkened from the radiance it once had in Jannah. He asked Sayyidina Jibril (AS) how to remove this darkness, and he was taught to fast three days each month.

You may also make intention to combine this fast with any qadha (missed) fasts you may have.

For Sunnah fasts, the intention may be made anytime during the day. The Prophet ﷺ used to return home after Fajr prayers, and if no food was found at home, he would then make the intention to fast.

Monday, 6th April/ 17 Shawwal

The best days to perform Hijama (cupping) therapy, according to the Sunnah, are the 17th, 19th, and 21st of the Hijri month. It is even more beneficial when these days fall on a Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday.

Therefore, for the month of Shawwal, the best day is Monday, the 17th of Shawwal (6th April).

Cupping is a cure for many illnesses and an important Sunnah to practise. Doing it once a year is sufficient for those in good health.

Important: Never perform cupping on Wednesdays or Saturdays, as this brings more harm than benefit according to a Hadith.

Monday, 13th April/ 24 Shawwal

Night of 25th Shawwal Urs of Imam Jaʿfar al-Sadiqر, Great-grandson of the Prophet, 5th Grandshaykh of the Golden Chain

Saturday, 18th April/ 29 Shawwal

(Date to be confirmed)

Eve of Dhul Qa’dah.

One of the four sacred months, preparation for Hajj begins.

After Maghrib, partial seclusion begins until 10th of Dhul Hijjah.

Guide will be shared in a separate post closer to the date. You may subscribe to our website below to receive it directly in your email upon publication.

This guide has been compiled from the teachings of our beloved Sheikh, the late Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Sattar Khan, whose legacy continues at our Zawiyah at A’Posh Bizhub, Singapore, through his representatives, Sidi Shalihin, Ismail, and Syed Muhammad, who humbly carry forward the Naqshbandi path he laid with love and adab.

It also encompasses the teachings of great masters such as Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilaniق, Mawlana Shaykh Nazimق, Mawlana Shaykh Muhammadق, Shaykh Adnan Kabbaniق, Shaykh Raja Ashman Shahق, various classical and contemporary kitabs along with the writings of Awliya and scholars of the Naqshbandi Way.

As such, it is intended as a comprehensive guide to the devotions one may practice in these blessed months.

However, as Mawlanaق has often reminded us, any form of worship is accepted by Allah ﷻ, no matter how small. We should always strive to do good, even in small amounts, for what matters most is sincerity and consistency.

One should not feel disheartened or overwhelmed and abandon worship altogether. No matter the measure of our deeds, our duty is to keep striving to improve in this beautiful Way. We are truly blessed to have Mawlanaق’s guidance always.

We pray this guide brings benefit, provides clarity, and supports you on your journey.

We seek forgiveness for any shortcomings or errors.
