Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:

وَاتَّقُوا فِتْنَةً لَّا تُصِيبَنَّ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنكُمْ خَاصَّةً”,

Wa-ttaqū fitnatan lā tuṣībanna lladhīna ẓalamū minkum khāṣṣatan”, “And fear a trial which will not strike those who have wronged among you exclusively” (Qur’an 08:25). Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘aẓīm. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, “Beware of Fitnah.” Because Fitnah comes to oppressors and also along with them touches the people who will support them. A person who is [related] with the Fitnah will certainly be harmed.

This time we live in in the end of times is the time of Fitnah. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam had told about this. In the end of times, there will be “H’arj wa Marj”, meaning bad incidents will happen. There will be many killed and many killers. These Fitnahs of the end of times that our Holy Prophet ﷺ told about are appearing.

In these last years, something even more happened which is the diseases and so. They have destroyed the people and countries even more. They have made people fall against each other inside each country. This matter has become even more in Muslim countries. Fitnah broke out in places where there was no Fitnah. They are killing each other. They don’t sympathize with each other. These are the Fitnahs of the end of times.

Therefore, as our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said, a person should be thankful if he has food, if he has a house and if he lives in safety. This is the greatest favor. Don’t ask for anything more. Ask from Allah ﷻ, not from people. Because what people will give you is harm; nothing else. If you act according to your own mind, may Allah ﷻ protect us, you will fall into Fitnah. And those who fall into Fitnah will perish.

There is a poor country called Sudan. A civil war broke out there. Not a civil war, but groups there declared war on each other. The people there are already poor, they live half-starved. They are poor and needy. And as if that wasn’t enough, they did something that they cannot leave their houses. There is no medicine, no food, nothing. Out of nowhere. This is what is called Fitnah.

So don’t provoke people. No one should be provoked to go out on the streets to shout and yell, “We want this, we want that.” Sit where you are. Allah ﷻ gives you your Rizq (provision). If you do so, if you say that you will do it by your own understanding, what’s between your hands will be gone. You go into Fitnah and you will lose your soul, you will lose what you have, you will be hungry and you will be unemployed.

Mankind must use their minds a little bit. Don’t rush to the streets because of everyone’s provocation. Mawlana Shaykh Nazim had said this matter years ago. If something happens, Muslims go out to curse and shout. He said that one must never do this. If you do this, no one will listen to you, no one will take you into consideration. If you are going to ask, ask the One who gives you your Rizq, who hears you and gives you what you want; go to Allah ﷻ. Go to the mosques. Sit in the mosque, make Dua then leave.

On the other hand, there is Sudan. There are many other countries, Pakistan, Sudan and I don’t know where, here and there. They are all going out, according to their minds, shouting and yelling in the streets. They harm others. Then when Fitnah hits them, they starve and can’t find anything. And what they have goes too.

You must be careful about that. Be very careful in the end of times, the time of Fitnah. I think Sayyidina Ali said it, “ِهَذَا زَمَنُ السُّكُوتِ وَمُلازَمَةُ البُيُوت”, “Hadha Zamanu s-Sukut wa Mulazamatu l-Buyut.” He says that this is the time to be quiet and sit at home. Who does that will be safe. Mawlana Shaykh Nazim had also said that. He used to say go here and there, and in the end if you sit at home and stay calm, you are under protection. Do not ever think that people will give you. People only give themselves. They don’t give others. Shout as much as you want, they won’t give you. May Allah ﷻ protect us. May He ﷻ give people mind and understanding.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
