Al-ḥamdu liLlāh for these favours. Shukr and praises to Allāh ﷻ for the favours He ﷻ gives. We have reached the last day of holy Ramaḍān. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla will give great rewards tonight to those who spent this Ramaḍān fasting, making i‘tikāf, giving zakāh and performing their prayers. He ﷻ says “I know the amount. Only I know. No one else knows how much I give”. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is generous. What He ﷻ gives is
countless and unlimited. May it be blessed upon all! And great good tidings for the people and believers who appreciate this beautiful month, who spend it as Allāh ﷻ wants and as Allāh ﷻ loves. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said and promised great rewards in the end of this month. It is the promise of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. His ﷻ promise is true.
Therefore, may it be blessed for everyone. Because it is such a holy month that a person who doesn’t fast on purpose loses a lot of things. People regret it later. They want to make it up. It is ok to make it up. But when they make it up, as they didn’t fast on purpose, they have to fast 60 days kaffārah. And then they start fasting the missed days. For all the missed days, people can make them up slowly. But there is a “but“ here as well. They cannot attain the same virtue. Even if they make kaffārah and fast for the missed days, our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says that they cannot attain the virtue of one day [of Ramadan]. Even if they fast all their lives, if they break it on ‘Īds and fast on other days for years, they cannot attain the virtue of one day. It is so valuable. People are missing it. They are wasting it without care. But if Allāh ﷻ guides them, it is better that they make it up. But they cannot get the precious things and rewards they have missed. May Allāh ﷻ protect all of us.
May Allāh ﷻ help us preserve the farḍ that is ordered by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Farḍ is the most important thing. Certainly, you cannot attain it again when you miss the sunnah as well. But the farḍ is the most precious. Therefore, we must not miss our prayers. We shouldn’t delay them for making up. No matter what important matter there is, people must certainly be careful about them.
Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, tonight is the eve of ‘Īd. It is one of the virtuous nights. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gave Ramaḍān, and He ﷻ gave the eve of ‘Īd on the last day. It is one of the holy nights like Laylatu l-Qadr, Laylatu l-Mawlid, Laylatu l-Barā’ah. Just like those nights, the eve of ‘Īd is also blessed. And Jum‘ah is blessed. This time they come together. There will be more barakah inshā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ give barakah. May Allāh ﷻ make all of us steadfast on the way of truth. May others have the means of guidance. May Allāh ﷻ give guidance to them so that they don’t miss these virtues. May it be blessed for all of us inshā’a Llāh.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
