Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam told about whom the best people are, “خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ القُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ”, “Khayrukum man ta‘allama l-Qur’ān wa ‘allamah”, “The best among you is he who learns and teaches the Qur’ān.” Those who learn the Qur’ān and teach the Qur’ān.
AlhamduliLlah, we see here a madrasah of the Qur’ān and many children attending. Childhood is the best time for learning the Qur’ān. AlhamduliLlah, you are here in a very good place with very good people. AlhamduliLlah, they are following the sayings of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, and they are teaching children from the beginning to read the Qur’ān.
There is a saying-I don’t think it is a ḥadīth, maybe it is, I don’t know: “العِلْمُ في الصِغَرِ كالنَّقْشِ على الحَجَرِ، والعِلْمُ في الكِبَرِ كالنَّقْشِ على الماء”, “Al-’ilmu fis-sighar kan-naqshi ’alal-hajar, wal-’ilmu fil-kibar kan-naqshi ’alal-ma’.” “Learning when young is like carving in rock; and learning when old is like carving in water.”
It is said that knowledge in childhood is like carving into stone. Just as when we write something in stone using a hammer or a tool, when a small girl or boy learns at a young age, it is strong, and they do not forget it anymore.
Today, AlhamduliLlah, we visited many places. The first place was the Sultan’s place. There is a stone there that they wrote on, and after 500 years, it is still there and can be read. These people were sincere people.
From their barakah your country became like this; keeping Islām better than most Islāmic countries. This is a favor from Allāh ﷻ. He ﷻ sent these people and made hidāyah through them. And this hidāyah continues one after another. It continues, AlhamduliLlah; this is what we see.
This is important for all human beings. The Qur’ān gives every good thing because it is the word of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. When you read it, your heart opens, it is shifa for you, and there are countless benefits for Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n. For this, we are happy.
We stayed the whole day. We have been listening, seeing new places, and everything is not stopping. AlhamduliLlah, they are making an effort to help more and more children learn the Qur’ān and teach people.
AlhamduliLlah, this is very good because in two years, it has become maybe three times bigger. Because Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said that he whose two days are equal is a loser, and he whose today is worse than his yesterday is ruined. Because the next day, the second day, must be better than the first day.
For this, we are happy with the people who are following the saying of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and the word of Allāh ﷻ to serve the students of the Qur’ān and the students of knowledge. This favor is from Allāh ﷻ.
Those who have this favor are lucky to do what Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla ordered. This is great luck for people: the luck to do good work for Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Because nowadays, people don’t take the time to do what the people of the past did.
When nighttime came, they would spend five or ten minutes thinking, “What have I done today? Was it good or not good?” Because many things happen during the daytime. So these people used to think about what good they did, what wrong they did, and what sins they committed.
You must think about this and ask for forgiveness from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. If they did anything wrong, they ask for forgiveness from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla because, alhamduliLlah Allāh ﷻ orders the angel on the left side, who writes down wrongdoings, to wait until the evening to see what this person does.
If he asks for forgiveness, Allāh ﷻ will forgive it and not write it down as a bad deed. And of course, since we might forget, it is better before sleeping to make wudu’, pray two rak’ahs, say AstaghfiruLlah, and ask for forgiveness from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.
Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says that if you pray these two rak’ahs, recite AstaghfiruLlah, and wake up before Fajr to pray at least two rak’ahs for Tahajjud, it will be as if you spent the whole night in worship.
AlhamduliLlah, we are thankful to Allāh ﷻ for creating us in the nation, Ummah of our Prophet Sayyidina Muhammad ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. We are very lucky. We are very lucky for this. We are lucky because before the Ummah of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, for Allāh ﷻ to forgive them, those people were ordered to do many difficult things.
When Sayyidina Musa ‘alayhi s-salam went to Tur Sina and came back, his nation was worshipping the golden cow. Allāh ﷻ cursed them, and when they asked for forgiveness, Allāh ﷻ said: “You must kill yourselves.” And they started killing themselves – killing, killing, killing – until 70,000 were killed.
This is one example of how difficult it was to ask for forgiveness from Allāh ﷻ before Sayyidina Muhammad ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. We just say AstaghfiruLlah, and Allāh ﷻ forgives us; very easy.
This is very, very, very easy. And when you do this at nighttime: reciting AstaghfiruLlah and praying two rak’ahs – all your sins will be forgiven, and you will rest and sleep peacefully.
AlhamduliLlah, we are thanking Allāh ﷻ for this. In shā’a Llāh, may Allāh ﷻ forgive all of us, and bless you and us, in shā’a Llāh, for this meeting. Thank you for you. You are coming here for the sake of Allāh ﷻ. May Allāh ﷻ bless you and give you barakah, in shā’a Llāh.
In shā’a Llāh, may we meet again and again in good health and with more happiness, in shā’a Llāh. In shā’a Llāh, you must think about the ākhirah. Dunyā is not important; what’s important is the ākhirah.
Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says that whoever has his daily food, a house, and his ibādah is among the happiest people. May Allāh ﷻ, in shā’a Llāh, give all of us the most precious treasure: Qanā’ah, to be happy with what you have.
It is said: “القناعة كنز لا يفنى”, “Al-qanā’atu kanzun lā yafnā.” “Contentment is an inexhaustible treasure.” Meaning to be happy with what you have is an endless treasure. Thank you for you, and may Allāh ﷻ bless you.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
