Chosen to Be WaliyuLlah

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

We are thankful to Allāh ﷻ, Shukran li-Llah. We are happy to be with people chosen to be beloved for Allāh ﷻ. Those in this majlis, in this gathering are beloved ones to Allāh ﷻ.

Maybe about ten days ago, they asked us this question – which people always ask. A boy who’s a university student asked, “How can I be WaliyuLlah?” Because there are some people who make a course on how to make people WaliyuLlah. There’s a three-month course they write on the internet on how to make you WaliyuLlah.

So, how can one be? You must pay maybe a thousand dollars, and after three months you become WaliyuLlah! There’s no need for this! If you’re praying five times, fasting, paying zakāt, performed hajj, you’re a beloved one for Allāh ﷻ. WaliyuLlah means a beloved one for Allāh ﷻ.

If you’re looking to become a WaliyuLlah, beloved for Allāh ﷻ, to make miracles, to make Karāmāh, this means you’re not doing it for Allāh ﷻ, you’re not a beloved one for Allāh ﷻ. You’re doing this to get benefit. WaliyuLlah knows, he doesn’t need to make a Karāmāh for himself.

So, AlhamduliLlah most of you here are doing what Allāh ﷻ orders, and Allāh ﷻ loves you. If He ﷻ doesn’t love you, He ﷻ wouldn’t have put you to be here. Because millions of people are going after their desires, going for shopping and coffee shops. They have no interest in religion or asking for the sake of Allāh ﷻ. Who asks for Allāh ﷻ, Allāh ﷻ will never make him go empty handed. Allāh ﷻ rewards him.

For this, AlhamduliLlah our ṭarīqah, from beginning to end, aims for this matter: the matter of how to make you beloved for Allāh ﷻ. When you are beloved for Allāh ﷻ, you will be beloved for people also. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, “When I love someone, I order all the creatures to love him.”

But whom Allāh ﷻ doesn’t love – even if people maybe follow him it’s for money, not because they love him. It is only because they love his money or whatever he will give them; not for his personality. Only the one who loves Allāh ﷻ and Allāh ﷻ loves him, people will also love him.

For this, in our ṭarīqah, the way of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam taught us every good thing. It is benefit for all humanity, from beginning to end. Not as they say it was a thousand year, a hundred thousand or five hundred thousand years ago – this is the biggest lie of humanity.

Without ṭarīqah, there’s no life, no spiritual life or spirituality. Every goodness came with it. Even people who are not following and are cursing Islām, harming Islām, and Muslims who are also harming Islām – still Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, for the Karāmāh of these people, Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, “بِهِم تُمْطَرُون، بِهِم تُرْزَقُون ، بِهِم تُنْصَرُون”, “Bihim tumṭarūn, bihim turzaqūn, bihim tunṣarūn.” “Rain falls upon you by their Barakah. Rizq (provision) comes to you by their means. You reach victory by their means.” Through these people, you get rizq, victory and rain.

For this, it is important for all human beings to follow ṭarīqah. But this is also – as we said in the beginning – you must be chosen by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla for that. He ﷻ says who will be following ṭarīqah and not following shayṭān. Ṭarīqah is the heart of sharī’ah. Ṭarīqah is what Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam taught us and is still teaching us for the whole Ummah.

The first thing is to love; for the Muslim to love his Muslim brother. And if you love somebody you cannot behave badly towards him or others. One will be all the time in adab and good behavior. Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam taught us every good manner. AlhamduliLlah here you have good manners and good Adab. And in shā’a Llāh, all will be beloved ones for Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Allāh ﷻ protects you from every bad thing.

Before, they thought that by destroying the Islamic State, the Ottoman Empire, they would finish Islām. But Islām is safe with good behaved people, good mannered people, ṭarīqah people and Awliyā’u Llāh. They attacked Islām in every way. And if they had actually succeeded, you wouldn’t have found anyone here, not one Muslim on earth.

And what are we doing [to face them]? We don’t have weapons, we don’t have missiles, we are not fighting, we are not making secret plans to destroy others. But they are doing all of this. All these kuffar, unbelievers, anti-Islām groups are doing all this to finish Islām. But Allāh ﷻ protects it. We are relaxed, we are happy. We have nothing to worry about. Why?

Because Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said, “لَا تَحْزَنْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَنَا”, “Lā Taĥzan ‘Inna Allāha Ma`anā”, “Do not grieve; indeed Allah is with us,” (Qur’ān 09:40). Even when they were in the most difficult time, Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and Sayyidinā Abu Bakr, he ﷺ said, don’t worry, don’t be sad, Allāh ﷻ is with us. The Creator of all of the universe is with us.

So don’t worry about these weapons, about these people. Just be in this way. Keep your heart with Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. And the end will be good for us. As they say, I don’t know is it an English saying or what – “He who laughs last, laughs best.” But when you laugh before, thinking you are finishing some people, in the end there won’t be any victory for you.

It is said in Sūrat Al-Mutaffifīn, “هَلْ ثُوِّبَ الْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ”, “Hal Thūwiba Al-Kuffāru Mā Kānū Yaf`alūna”, “Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do?” (Qur’ān 83:36). Mu’mins will be seeing these people in hell. And Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is asking them in this ayah what they’d done, what did they get for what they’d done. Allāh ﷻ is asking in the end of this Sūrah.

So we should be in the way of Allāh ﷻ, and not to worry about what’s happening here and there. Just be sincere with Allāh ﷻ love Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and love Mu’mins and Muslims, in shā’a Llāh.

May Allāh ﷻ bless you. May Allāh ﷻ keep us and make you more and more, to be hidayah for others, to be all blessed ones, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ make you all to be Awliyā’u Llāh, in shā’a Llāh.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
