Reward of Goodness Is Paradise

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ

(Qur’ān 02:82)

“Wa-alladhīna āmanū wa ʿamilu ṣ-ṣāliḥāti ulāika aṣḥābu l-jannati hum fīhā khālidūna”

“And those who believe and do righteous good deeds, they are dwellers of Paradise, they will dwell therein forever.” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Those who believe and do good, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says in this blessed āyah, are the dwellers of Paradise. They will be there forever, immortal. This is a great gain. People forget this, and work for dunyā; they work for dunyā without believing. But the essential thing is to believe and do righteous deeds, to do good works, to do goodness.

Islām is goodness, Allāh’s ﷻ commands are goodness. There is no evil in them. Evil is with shayṭān. And those who are his followers help him. Those who do evil will be in the opposite of that: they will be in Hell. So, there is punishment and reward.

Who will attain reward are those who are on the right way, who believe in Allāh ﷻ, who fulfill His ﷻ commands, and who do good to people in every way; they will remain in Paradise forever. Paradise is a place that not everyone can enter.

But if they want, everyone can easily enter. He who does not follow his ego, who overcomes and destroys his ego, who does not obey shayṭān, and who obeys Allāh ﷻ will be in Paradise forever.

Paradise is nothing like this world. There are some gatherings mentioned by our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, gatherings of Paradise, his ﷺ holy tomb, Paradises of dunyā. They are beautiful examples of the Hereafter. Those who pass by and stand there find peace and experience the beautiful state of Paradise.

Therefore, goodness brings goodness. We should not think of anything other than goodness. A person who thinks evil torments himself and harms himself. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May we always be in goodness, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allāh at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
