Let Not Your Heart Incline to Evil

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُدَافِعُ عَنِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا

(Qur’ān 22:38)

‘Inna Allaha yudafi’u ‘ani l-ladhina ‘amanu’

‘Truly, Allah defends those who believe.’ Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, “He ﷻ defends and protects those who believe.” This is His ﷻ true promise. Believers, those who possess true īmān, are under the protection and guardianship of Allāh ﷻ. They have no other occupation than the remembrance (dhikr) of Allāh ﷻ and worship of Allāh ﷻ.

Whatever others strive to do, Allāh ﷻ will protect them. They are under the protection of Allāh ﷻ, they are with Allāh ﷻ. Therefore, whoever is with Allāh ﷻ is always saved. They are always victorious, triumphant. They are the possessor of all good. Whoever is not with Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla will face all kinds of difficulties, big and small.

Therefore, being on the way of Allāh ﷻ is a great blessing, a great virtue. Because Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla guides whomever He ﷻ wills and withholds from whomever He ﷻ wills. Today, people boast about the evil they do. They think they are doing something good. However, what they do only harms themselves.

Of course, it also harms others. When it harms others, the responsibility for it falls upon them. And they will certainly receive their punishment. Therefore, whoever is with Allāh ﷻ is always in goodness, beauty, and all kinds of beneficence.

Therefore, one’s heart mustn’t incline towards evil. Because shayṭān makes evil appear good and good appear bad to people. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May He ﷻ protect us from the traps and evils of shayṭān. May Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla not separate us from His ﷻ protection and from that īmān. May He ﷻ strengthen our īmān.

We are in the end times; a thousand things can put doubts into a person’s mind, planting false thoughts in their head. Therefore, it is necessary to always remain on the way of truth. If you have chosen the way, hold on to it firmly.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, ‘وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا’, ‘Wa-‘taṣimū biḥabli Llāhi jamī‘an wa lā tafarraqū’, ‘And hold firmly to the rope of Allāh all together and do not become divided.’ (Qur’ān 03:103). Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, “Hold fast to the rope of Allāh ﷻ, to His ﷻ way, and do not be divided.”

May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May we always remain steadfast on this way, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
