Du’ā’s for the 15th Night of Sha’bān

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Tonight is the night of the fifteenth of Sha’bān in our calendar. What we know and is mentioned in the Qur’ān is that it’s a blessed night. Every thing that will happen for one year for everyone is written on this night. By Allāh’s ﷻ wisdom, He ﷻ gave knowledge to people. But what we know is nothing; not even one dust from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla’s knowledge. We cannot compare this at all.

For this, this is a night we celebrate, we make du’ā’ to be safe this year. Safe from what? From kufr, from bad actions, from what harms ourselves and harms those around us. This is what we pray for first to Allāh ﷻ; to not make us go on the bad way or show people the bad way. This is what we don’t want. We ask Allāh ﷻ, may Allāh ﷻ never make us like this. This is very important.

Other than that, of course, whatever you want you can make du’a for, for a healthy life, to be wealthy. Wealth is good also but many people must be careful when they have wealth not to be crazy or to do something not allowed. We see some people with money they become crazy. Some people without money they become crazy. For this, if Allāh ﷻ gave you (wealth), be thankful and careful how to spend and where to go. Every time, you must spend with the intention being for the sake of Allāh ﷻ. Don’t forget this. This is very important.

When you do this, every penny you spend for anything, Allāh ﷻ rewards you for it. If you don’t remember this, it will be of no barakah and no benefit. Benefit is in it being for ākhirah. Even when you live and you remember everything for Allāh ﷻ, for the sake of Allāh ﷻ, you can enjoy, you can do everything but the intention must be for Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Don’t forget. Thank Allāh ﷻ. Do for the sake of Allāh ﷻ and thank Allāh ﷻ that He ﷻ gave us this.

And to have strength for worship, to help others, to be on the way of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. But not to think that it’s from you. Many people think so. This is very important because if Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla doesn’t give you, you cannot do anything. You can be very clever, you can finish many universities, work, this and that and still not have anything. But when Allāh ﷻ wants, even if you don’t know how to read, He ﷻ gives you. You must know this. Everything is from Allāh ﷻ.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gives some people and some people not. So when you have something you must not forget Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. You must the whole time thank Him ﷻ. Because when you thank Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, He ﷻ gives you more. ‘لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ’, ‘La’in Shakartum La’azīdannakum’, ‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor].’ (Qur’ān 14:07). Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is saying so. This is very important.

May Allāh ﷻ make it, in shā’a Llāh, a year of Barakah. A year of, in shā’a Llāh, also – Mawlānā Shaykh was always saying, every time we must ask Allāh ﷻ to send us the savior to save us: Sayyidina Al Mahdi alayhi salam. This is very important. As much as you have everything, but still, we want him to come because the world has become in a very bad situation.

Everywhere has become like inside each other. You cannot make a solution without Sayyidina Mahdi ‘alayhi s-salām. For this, also we are every time asking Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla to send him to finish oppression from the world, in shā’a Llāh, to put justice and light in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ send him, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
