A‘ūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm.
Tarīqah and Shari’ah are obligatory for everyone. Tarīqah is already interconnected to Shari’ah. Everyone who goes on that way attains the pleasure of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla and our Holy Prophet ﷺ. Going that way will anger the shaytans. They want to take people out of that way. They lead you astray with all kinds of things.
Sometimes you say that a man has been praying for years, something happens: he gets offended, he gets angry and leaves. This harms him. He left so much virtues behind because of something he was angry about. He left. There are many situations like this.
Even though people don’t see it, many people have gone astray from these situations. It looks like they’re doing a good deed, they get angry with Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla and with our Holy Prophet ﷺ. They leave the way.
You have nowhere to run.
Eventually, that is your way in your future. The thing that angered you was your detriment, not for your benefit. You mustn’t be angry, you must be patient. You have to say, “It is a test. I must pass that test.”
As they say, “He gets angry at the priest and breaks his fast.” This is exactly what happens. The priest doesn’t want you to fast anyway. In other words, he does not want you to be on these ways. Some of them are not like that, but most of them are like that.
This is not a situation to make you angry. If it will make you angry, it will hurt you. Someone else will be happy instead of you.
Therefore, these ways are not ways to get angry. It’s not a way to get offended. The way of Allāh ﷻ is the way of test. Sometimes it passes without any test. It passes with test and it passes without test. Therefore, you need to be careful. To get angry is not good.
Our Holy Prophet ﷺ says,
“Don’t get angry.” “لَ ا تاغْضاب”, “La Taghdab”. Don’t get angry, he ﷺ says. Be calm. May Allāh ﷻ grant us all tranquility. May He ﷻ grant us mind and understanding, because when you get angry, your mind goes away. Therefore, may Allāh ﷻ not separate us all from the right way. It is a bad thing to leave this beautiful way. May He ﷻ protect us.
May Allāh ﷻ protect us.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
