Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

وَأَنفِقُوا مِن مَّا رَزَقْنَاكُم
(Qur’ān 63:10)
“Wa ‘Anfiqū Min Mā Razaqnākum”
“And spend [in the way of Allah ] from what We have provided you.” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, give from the rizq we have given you, do good. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla orders and recommends so.
A believer does not work for dunyā. What he works for in dunyā is for ākhirah; not for dunyā. Everything he does is for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ. His intention must be like that. Even if the whole world is his, there’s no problem in that. But if he works for dunyā, even a penny will not be of benefit for him.
That’s why, this is important for the believer, for the Muslim. It is necessary to do that. It is necessary to think of that. Are we running for dunyā or ākhirah? A person who runs for dunyā is a fool, says our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. It is useless. We are not running for dunyā, but for ākhirah. That’s how it should be. It may be yours. Spend it on your children, spend it on your family, spend it on Muslims. You may have from wealth as much as you want, don’t be afraid. But if it’s for dunyā, then be afraid. If you earn even a penny while running for dunyā, then be afraid.
Your intention must be for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ. “I will not strive, I will not run, I will not get tired for dunyā. I will sell the dunyā for ākhirah. I will not sell the ākhirah for dunyā.“ Then, you will have won. This is what Muslims do not realize. They think they are happy only when they win dunyā. Then, even if he seems happy, he is not comfortable inside, he becomes restless. Because if there isn’t the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ, there is no satisfaction or peace. That happens only with the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ.
Therefore, as we said, a person must work in dunyā for ākhirah. A lazy Muslim is not an acceptable person. A working Muslim is an acceptable person. Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, “المؤمنُ القويُّ خيرٌ وأحبُّ إلى اللهِ من المؤمنِ الضعيفِ”, “A believer who is strong is better and dearer to Allah than the weak believer.” A strong Muslim is better than a weak Muslim. Power is with money, gold, silver, wealth. A Muslim who has those is stronger. That is good because it is for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ. May Allāh ﷻ grant us all that understanding. To distinguish that is important. A person who distinguishes that will find goodness. Goodness is in the pleasure Allāh ﷻ. May Allāh ﷻ make this goodness perpetual for us. May He ﷻ not make us conform to our egos. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
There are recited Qur’an Khatms, Tasbīhat, Tahlilāt, Salawāt, Surahs, Ayāt. Whatever good goals they have, may Allāh ﷻ accept them. May Allāh ﷻ bless them. These days are blessed days. Their rewards are greater. All of these recitations are for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ. We gift them firstly to the great soul of our Holy Prophet ﷺ, his ﷺ Ahlu l-Bayt and ṣaḥābah, souls of all Anbiya, Awliya, Mursalīn. To the souls of our Mashāyikh. To the souls of all Mu’mins and Mu’minahs, Muslims and Muslimāt. May whatever goals those who recited have be reached. For happiness here and hereafter. For strength of īmān insha’Allah. Li-Llahi Ta’āla.
Al-Fatiha.
