Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

“Everything related to Hajj is very holy and special.
Some ‘ulama (scholars) say that these days are better than Ramadhan because in Ramadhan, we don’t know which night is Laylatul Qadr. But during these nights, it is clearly known.
Allah Almighty made it known to people so they could gain multiple folds of reward and blessings from these days.”
— Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Adil ar-Rabbaniق
Insha’Allah, those following Mawlanaق’s calendar and the Meccan Hijri calendar will welcome the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah on Wednesday, 28 May 2025.
Singapore’s Hijri calendar starts a day later, on Thursday, 29 May 2025.
These are the holiest days in Islam. The Prophet ﷺ said:
“There are no days in which good deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” [Bukhari]
Virtues of These Days
[Hadith from Mawlanaق’s past Suhbahs]
Each day of fasting (from the 1st to the 9th) is equal in reward to fasting for a full year.
Each night of vigil (tahajjud) is as if one has revived the night in worship for an entire year.
Fasting on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah (the Day of ‘Arafah) wipes away the sins of the previous year and the year to come.
Important Reminders
[Taken from Sahih Muslim]
Qurban / Sacrifice:
For those intending to offer a qurban, be sure to trim your hair and nails before Maghrib on Tuesday, 27 May 2025 (Meccan calendar).
Once Dhul Hijjah begins, refrain from cutting hair or nails until the sacrifice is completed.
The Day of ‘Arafah:
The 9th of Dhul Hijjah is the most virtuous day to fast, coinciding with the gathering of pilgrims on the plains of ‘Arafah in the state of Wuquf.
This year, the Day of ‘Arafah falls on Thursday, 5 June 2025 (Mecca date).
