Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm
وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِ
(Qur’ān 57:20)
“Wa Mā Al-Ĥayāatu Ad-Dunyā ‘Illā Matā’u Al-Ghurūr”, “And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion.” Sadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla is saying worldly life is just a game and entertainment. This world has no value, says Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. We live in this world, but it has no value. Because it won’t last. What doesn’t last has no value.
People fight over this world. They kill each other and do badness to each other for this world. But it has no value. The value is for Akhirah. And the valuable things in this world are the houses of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla: Ka’bah, Makkah, Madina Munawwara and Quddus. Wherever there are mosques and Masjids, they are valuable in the presence of Allah ﷻ. These are the valuable things in this world. Apart from them, nothing in this world has any value or importance.
They are not for this world; they are for Akhirah. Masjids of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla and our Holy Prophet ﷺ, other Masjids and mosques all over the world are the places for the pleasure of Allah ﷻ. Dergahs and tombs are for the pleasure of Allah ﷻ. As they are not for Dunya, they are the valuable things on earth. Neither skyscrapers, nor cities, nor palaces; they have no value in the sight of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. And they should not have value in the sight of people as well. But people, contrarily, don’t value what is precious and value worthless things.
People leave their homelands even if they don’t have to and go to other places chasing Dunya, for worldly things. But things which are not for Dunya, places of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla – If they are preventing you from your religion, the earth of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla is wide and vast, you may go to another place. But going after more luxurious life and for worldly benefit means you are chasing Dunya. It has no benefit. Allah ﷻ is not pleased with that. Because Allah ﷻ gives Rizq everywhere. Wherever you are, He ﷻ gives you your Rizq. Therefore, pay attention to the things that are for Akhirah while you are alive.
Who’s gone is gone. But those who say “I will go there for Rizq”, Allah ﷻ is Ar-Razzaq. He ﷻ will give you Rizq wherever you are. Nevertheless, you must pay attention if you can keep your religion, if you can keep your children, if you can keep your grandchildren. You must pay attention to that. As we said, wherever people go, they should always be in places beloved by Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. They must find shelter in Masjids, Dergahs and mosques wherever they are. Allah ﷻ will help and protect them insha’Allah. May Allah ﷻ help people and Muslims insha’Allah. May we guard our religion. May the religion of our children be protected insha’Allah. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
