Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

(Qur’ān 28:71)
“Qul ‘Ara’aytum ‘In Jaala AllāhuAlaykumu Al-Layla Sarmadāan ‘Ilá Yawmi Al-Qiyāmati Man ‘Ilahun Ghayru Allāhi Ya’tīkum Bi-điyā’in”
“Say, ‘Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the night continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allah could bring you light?’” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has created everything beautifully. He ﷻ has also created this worldly life beautifully. In this life, everything has a match. There is day and night; black and white; oppression and justice. So everything has an opposite or equivalent in dunyā. Why is this so? Because it is a world of tests. Because it is a world of tests, there is shayṭān and angel. There are believers and unbelievers.
So everything has an equivalent. There is no one alone. Nothing is one [by itself]. The One is Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. He ﷻ is the owner of everything. He ﷻ has no partner or alike; Ḥāshā! (far from it). Others, because they are human beings, certainly have an equivalent, an opposite. The similar will be together. The opposite will be together with the opposites.
The believers will be together with the prophets and with our Holy Prophet ﷺ. They will be together with him ﷺ. Who is their opposite? It is shayṭān. Shayṭāns will be with shayṭān. Those who go on his path will be with him.
So this is the will of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla in this world. It is His ﷻ will. Some foolish ones say, “If I can do something..” There are many people who talk without thinking. “I would not have left a poor person. I would not have left an unbeliever. I would not have done this and that.”
Sometimes people talk nonsense that they oppose Allāh ﷻ without knowing; Ḥāshā. Allāh ﷻ is the one who has taught you anyways. Doesn’t Allāh ﷻ know? “He should create everyone only as believers. He should only create Muslims. He should create them only as good.” The wisdom of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is to create everything as a test.
Therefore, in dunyā, mankind must – We say this all the time. We also say it in different ways. But what’s important is riḍā,’ contentment. To be pleased and content with Allāh ﷻ, with what you experience, with the days you live. That’s what is important. Allāh ﷻ has given you every blessing. Be grateful to Allāh ﷻ, be content and obey Allāh ﷻ. Make shukr for the blessings that Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has given you.
You mustn’t object to anything. Everything has a wisdom. “People are being oppressed, people are suffering.” They have their Lord, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. He ﷻ will reward them if they are patient. And if they are not patient, they will suffer in vain.
Therefore, as we said, everything has its opposite in this worldly life. Be from the good side. Be from the side of light. Don’t be from the dark side. Don’t be with the oppressors. Don’t be with the unbelievers. Be with the good people, those with light. Stay away from the bad ones. This is it. If it weren’t for the night, the day wouldn’t be known. Of course, there is neither heat nor day in paradise. Paradise is different, and dunyā is different.
This is the state of dunyā. One must know this. “If it were me, I would do this, I would do that.” The best [example] is Hadrat Merkez Efendi. His Shaykh said, “Let me test my Murids.” Because he loved him the most. He said, “Everyone should take a piece of paper and write down. If this world was in his hand, what would he do?”
All of them answered as such, “I wouldn’t leave a tyrant. I wouldn’t leave a disease. I would not leave any evil. I would do this, I would do that.” They wrote different things. He asked Merkez Efendi, “What would you do?”
This is why his name is ‘Merkez’ Efendi. He said, “I would leave everything in its ‘Merkez’ (place). I would leave it as it is, in its Merkez. Allāh’s ﷻ decree is the best. I have no objection towards anything He ﷻ does.” That is how the true believer, the content one whose heart is content is.
May Allāh ﷻ make us from those who are pleased with Him ﷻ. May Allāh ﷻ also be pleased with us. Because Allāh ﷻ is pleased with us, but most people are not pleased with Allāh ﷻ. Ḥāshā. “No, like this. No, like that.” Let them be discontent as much as they want, they themselves have lost.
Because people who oppose Allāh ﷻ have no balance and no mind. They can be educated, cultured as much as they want. It’s nothing but noise. Their culture is a noise. It’s nothing else for those who oppose Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.
Therefore, we should feel sorry for them. They think they are something and they boast. Those who are much stronger than them have opposed Allāh ﷻ, and they will be in loss and disappointment forever.
May Allāh ﷻ protect us. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
