BismiLlahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim
‘وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ (56) مَا أُرِيدُ مِنْهُمْ مِنْ رِزْقٍ وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ يُطْعِمُونِ’
(Qur’ān 51:56-57)
“Wa-ma Khalaqtu l-Jinna wal Insa illa li-Ya’budun (56) Mā ‘Urīdu Minhum Min Rizqin Wa Mā ‘Urīdu ‘An Yuţ`imūni”
“And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me (56) I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me.” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Many people question why Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla created us and don’t know the wisdom of creation. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, “I created people and Jinn in order to worship Me.” This is the wisdom. Who know this do not agonize about it and don’t trouble themselves. Who don’t know this live a totally useless life. Sometimes they commit suicide, as they don’t know the wisdom. They think they appeared in this world all of a sudden. They wander around thinking there is no one. They don’t know there is Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla and that they must believe in Allah ﷻ. And when they believe in Allah ﷻ, all good things come to them.
People without Iman are not aware of anything. They come up as deniers and then expect goodness. How will goodness come to you? You may have the whole world, but you won’t be saved from this hardship. In order to be saved from hardship, you must worship. You must honor Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla, you must honor our Holy Prophet ﷺ. And you will live with wisdom. There is nothing without wisdom in life. They even ask their parents, “Why did you bring me into this world?” AstaghfiruLlah. It is not your parents who brought you here. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla created you. He ﷻ made them the means. And if you have to do something, that is to respect them. You must serve them for the pleasure of Allah ﷻ.
People who are after Dunya oppress and insult their parents. They say it is their fault. If Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla did not create you, where would your parents bring you from? Is it that easy to create a person? There is no one but Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla who creates. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla creates whenever He ﷻ wants to, so you come to this world. It doesn’t work otherwise. Without Him ﷻ it is impossible. When Allah ﷻ doesn’t say “Be!”, it is not there. When He ﷻ says “Be!”, it appears. We must know this too.
As we said, the wisdom is that we were created for worship, to worship Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Matters of this world are not important. What’s important when it comes to people’s minds is to know that we are created for worship. People must believe in this to be at rest. Otherwise, there is no rest. They run here and there, do this and that. But they realize they have no rest and no satisfaction in their hearts. “أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ”, “A-lā bi-dhikri llāhi taṭmainnu l-qulūb”, “Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.” (Qur’ān 13:28). Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm. Satisfaction comes from remembering Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla, from always making His ﷻ Dhikr.
May Allah ﷻ give guidance to people and all of us. May they follow this beautiful way, as Allah ﷻ has opened this way for everyone. It is not open for you and closed for me. Anyone willing should come to this way and reach peace insha’Allah. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
