The Saved Sect

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

May goodness be in our gathering, in shā’a Llāh.

Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, “The nation of Isrāil, Bani Isrāil split into seventy-two sects. They are all in hell, except one.” Our Prophet ﷺ says, “My nation will split into seventy-three sects. They are all in hell, except one.” The blessed ṣaḥābah asked, “And which is it, O Messenger of Allāh ﷻ?” “Those who are upon my way.” They will attain salvation. They will be saved. They will be saved from hell, from the fire. The other seventy-two are in hell.

Therefore, there are many sects who are not connected to our ‎Prophet ﷺ, who are not on his ﷺ way. Some are completely perverted. Some are deceiving people, “This is the way.” They definitely don’t say “way” anyways. They say “our community, gathering” this and that. But they don’t follow the way of our Prophet ﷺ. They don’t do the things he ﷺ did. They deny the things he ﷺ said. There are various sects.

The sect that attains salvation and is saved from fire and hell, is the one on the way of our Prophet ﷺ. They are the people of ṭarīqah. Those outside the people of ṭarīqah – those sects are also not subject to sharī’ah. They make things ḥalāl or ḥaram, call something good or bad according to their minds. The do things that our ‎Prophet ﷺ did not do.

May Allāh ﷻ protect us, their end will be bad. It’s maybe even more than seventy-three sects now. At the time of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, there were many who said, “We are Muslims. We do so.”

We must be careful about that. The way is the way of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, it is the way of the people of ṭarīqah. Because it is from Sheikh to Sheikh, from Murshid to Murshid, until it reaches our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Others, Allāh ﷻ knows.

They found someone from yesterday, according to their own minds; “We are following him. There is no need to read the Qur’ān. There is no need to recite Salawat. There is no need to visit.” They have all kinds of things. Their aim is to deceive people and keep them away from doing good deeds, and doing things that makes them earn thawāb. That is the work of the shayṭān.

This happens to those deceived by shayṭān and those who run after interest. They are the ones who work for dunyā. Those who work for ākhirah are on the way of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. People should look to their ākhirah. They should prioritize ākhirah over dunyā. They should see it as a way. Those who work for and prioritize their ākhirah over dunyā not their dunyā over ākhirah will be saved. That is the way of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.

May Allāh ﷻ guide people. And may He ﷻ make us steadfast, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
