Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

فَمَن شَاءَ فَلْيُؤْمِن وَمَن شَاءَ فَلْيَكْفُرْ
(Qur’ān 18:29)
“Fa-man shāʾa fa-l-yuʾmin, wa-man shāʾa fa-l-yakfur”
“So whoever wills – let him believe; and whoever wills – let him disbelieve.” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, “Let whoever wishes believe, and let whoever wishes remain in disbelief.” This is a matter of the heart.
You cannot force someone to become Muslim. During the conquests, they did not force anyone to change their religion; if one wished to become Muslim, they could, and if not, they could remain upon their own religion. There was a tax to be paid, and they were treated the same as citizens.
Why are we saying this? Today and yesterday, and likely for the past few days, the greatest man in the Christian world, the Pope, has come here to visit. His purpose was to visit the priests who were in Nicaea 1,700 years ago, whose councils were held to change the religion.
Those pagan Romans used to torture the early Christians—those on the way of Isa ‘alayhi s-salām, known as “Nazarenes”. They would kill them and not let them go anywhere. In the end, they combined paganism and Christianity according to their own minds.
Seventeen hundred years ago, that is, three hundred and twenty-five years after Sayyidina Isa, they agreed and said, “We have also become Christians,” but they changed it a little by saying, “There cannot be a single God; He must have a family, a child, etc.” Ḥāshā (far from it).
When the true followers of Isa ‘alayhi s-salām, the real People of the Book, did not accept this and continued to resist, they gathered them in order to silence them and held the Council of Nicaea.
They said, “These are the Christians. We accept none other.” They rejected all who disagreed and massacred them. Those who escaped fled, and those who remained either converted to their religion as they wished or were killed.
So this is what happened 1,700 years ago. After that, many sects emerged, outside the original teachings. One was the Nestorians—the monks whom Salmān al-Fārisi followed before Islām. They passed the true religion from one to another. After one died, they directed him to the next.
Finally, they sent Salmān al-Fārisi to Madinah, saying, “The Prophet ‘alayhi s-salām will appear there.” He found our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam in Madinah. He was from among those true sects. Many professed the Oneness of Allāh ﷻ and worshipped Him alone.
Later, when new sects emerged, they led astray the entire Christian world by producing the Bible, the fake Gospels, and oppressing and killing. That’s how they have embarked on the path of polytheism.
This is exactly what happened. And this meeting, in shā’a Llāh, will be a means for showing people the right way. Our people are afraid, “I wonder if black magic will be performed, or if something will be done?” Nothing will happen. There’s no reason to be afraid. This is the home of awliyā’, the home of martyrs, the home of the ṣaḥābah.
Therefore, whoever wishes to come can come; they won’t do anything. Nothing will happen. We should also treat our guests with hospitality. May Allāh ﷻ grant īmān and light to their hearts through kindness. May they see the truth, in shā’a Llāh.
Just as with the two previous Popes who suddenly met Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim. After that, he resigned from the papacy; something that has never happened before in papacy history. We asked Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim, “Why did he do this?” Mawlānā said, “He saw the truth.” When he saw the truth, he left.
They also gave the nation a ridiculous excuse. “He became ill. And because of his illness, he didn’t want to do anything with the papacy.” Besides, no pope has been replaced before he dies. And no one has resigned. If he’s sick, he’s sick. He remains in his position until he dies.
So, if Allāh ﷻ wills to guide a heart, guidance will come, in shā’a Llāh. If not, there have already been and there is until now thousands, hundreds of thousands of priests and monks around him who have secretly seen the truth and continued in their duties, becoming secret Muslims.
Therefore, there is no need for fear. ‘وَقُلْ جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ الْبَاطِلُ’, ‘Wa Qul Jā’a Al-Ĥaqqu Wa Zahaqa Al-Bāţilu’, ‘And say, Truth has come, and falsehood has perished.’ (Qur’ān 17:81). When truth appears, falsehood perishes; meaning it has no value, no importance at all.
Our people are saying, “What will happen? This happened, that happened.” There’s no fear. Allāh ﷻ is with us. Allāh ﷻ is Al-Haqq, and the Truth will manifest. If not now, then later. Just as the Pope has come, so will Sayyidina Isa. He will remove all this falsehood, with Allāh’s ﷻ permission.
May Allāh ﷻ make this visit a means of goodness. In shā’a Llāh may it be a means for guidance. Many of our brothers have returned from falsehood, that is, from their religion to the true religion. Many of them are like that, shukr to Allāh ﷻ.
May Allāh ﷻ also bring awakening to the Muslims through this, so that they may embrace the Truth, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allāh at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
