The Meaning of Asking Madad

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Mankind, people are helpless. Without help, there’s no benefit. Everything that comes from the ego is useless. Now, new things have come out. There’s yet another group that deceives people saying asking for Madad is a sin, it’s wrong.

So, how are you going to do it on your own? “You’re going to do it yourself. You’re going to read what’s written and you’re going to say it.” But what they’re doing is leading people astray from the way of our ancestors.

Such groups have existed from the time of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam until now. There’s a group that makes the right way seem bad to people. They always appear, in all sorts of forms; not in the same form. But the right way will remain unchanged until qiyāmah, Allāh ﷻ willing.

Madad means asking for help. It means asking help from Allāh ﷻ, from the friends of Allāh ﷻ, from our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and from the mashāyikh. We say this so that people don’t talk from their own egos, so that they don’t follow their egos, and so that they can speak what’s on the true way.

The true Ahlu s-Sunnah wal-Jamā’ah are those who respect and love our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. There is another group called Ahlu s-Sunnah but they are not. They do not respect our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. They do not respect the Companions or anyone else in any way. They are people who have gone astray; may Allāh ﷻ protect us.

Those who follow them will perish. Unfortunately, there are many people who are deceived by them. And when they are deceived, they deceive others. They harm others and prevent others from goodness. They prevent them from being with those beloved to Allah ﷻ. They lead them astray.

Without the love of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and without respecting him ﷺ, we would have nothing; it is not possible. Logic and reason tell us the same.

Since Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla praises and exalts our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam so much in Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n, you say, “I know Qur’ān and Ḥadīth. It’s wrong to exalt anyone. If you do that, you will become mushrik and kāfir.” This cannot be explained with mind or logic.

A person with mind and logic follows the way of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, honors him ﷺ, and recognizes that he ﷺ is at the highest station. He must consider this his foremost duty.

May Allāh ﷻ make us steadfast. May He ﷻ protect the ummah of these people and their evil, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
