The Attributes of Believers and Hypocrites

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

“Love of Allāh ﷻ, Love of the Messenger of Allāh ﷻ, Love of believers.”

The love of Allāh ﷻ, love of our ‎Prophet ﷺ and love of believers is the duty of the believer. Without this love and compassion, everything is dry. Everything is without life. Love gives life to everything. Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is HabibuLlah, Allāh’s ﷻ Beloved. His ﷺ way is the way of love, Allāh’s ﷻ way.

Believers must love one another. The believer doesn’t look for faults. He covers up faults. Hypocrites look for faults. They look for shortcomings in people to make themselves and their egos seem higher. They are pretentious, self-important, selfish and egoistic.

These are the attributes of shayṭān, not the attributes of a believer. The ego must be disciplined and freed from them. Those who do not do this will not make progress. They will not advance in their īmān, instead there will be regression.

As we see, the whole world is full of people who are enemies to each other and strive to do evil. That’s why, the state of dunyā is not good. Surely, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla will sends one of His ﷻ servants to fix that. That servant, shukr to Allāh ﷻ, the servant whom we were given good tidings about is Mahdi ‘alayhi s-salām.

In shā’a Llāh, waiting for Mahdi ‘alayhi s-salām is an act of worship. Believing in him and waiting for him is also an act of worship. Now, some people who claim they are scholars say, “It’s not true.” They are not scholars. Their way is to confuse people, to make people fall into doubt and decrease their īmān.

The believer, as we said, believes and Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla will open his heart. He ﷻ shows his heart the truth. That too, is a blessing from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. May Allāh ﷻ not deprive us of it, in shā’a Llāh. May He ﷻ increase it. The more, the better. It’s beneficial. The abundance of evil is not beneficial but harmful. The abundance of goodness and īmān is beneficial.

May Allāh ﷻ always grant us those benefits, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
