Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says,
“لَوْ أَنَّكُمْ تَتَوَكَّلُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ حَقَّ تَوَكُّلِهِ لَرَزَقَكُمْ كَمَا يَرْزُقُ الطَّيْرَ، تَغْدُو خِمَاصًا وَتَرُوحُ بِطَانًا”
“If you all depend on Allāh ﷻ with due reliance, He would certainly give you provision as He gives it to birds who go forth hungry in the morning and return with full belly at dusk.”
If you truly rely on Allāh ﷻ, Allāh ﷻ will give you your rizq even if you do nothing; just as birds go out hungry in the morning and return full in the evening, just like that, He ﷻ will provide for you if you put your reliance upon Him ﷻ. Of course, even Muslims lack trust in Allāh ﷻ. And there’s absolutely none among the kāfirs, those who don’t believe in Allāh ﷻ.
Therefore, this worldly state is like a large circle, “a vicious circle, a corrupt circle”, they say. People nowadays say, “We want more money, this money isn’t enough.” They fight and argue. Money is given, but in return, more is taken away. More is taken than what is given. Why? Because that’s what humans are capable of.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is who gives; people should rely on Him ﷻ. If they relied on Him ﷻ, the money and sustenance they receive would suffice. But no. They demand more, even if it means causing a commotion. And when they give him, they give a hundred and take two hundred back. Everyone knows this.
Trust in Allāh ﷻ, and the money will be of barakah and sufficient for you. Otherwise, it will come full circle. It will return to the same place, or even worse.
Therefore, as long as mankind stays away from what Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gives, and is not content, there is no benefit. They call it a “vicious cycle.” I don’t know how they say this in this new, modern language, but it means it spin in circles and go back to what’s worse. They take something else and your situation becomes even worse.
Now they talk about inflation and so. Where does this come from? It comes from staying away from the way shown by Allāh ﷻ. Allāh ﷻ created this world. Everything is within it; you cannot take more. There is a limit, and if you exceed that limit, you will end up back where you were before, or even worse.
Therefore, one must be careful. A person should be content with what Allāh ﷻ gives, or what he receives. He will see its barakah. Otherwise, as we said, they will constantly deceive you. Everyone knows they are being deceived. They say, “They give us this much, we got this much of a raise, we receive our salaries,” but on the other side, prices rise twice as much as the salary.
People need to know what they are working for, for whom they do it, whom does it come from, and to whom it returns. May Allāh ﷻ grant us vigilance and barakah, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ protect us and not diminish our sustenance, in shā’a Llāh.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
