Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

“كُلُّ امْرِئٍ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ“
(Qur’ān 52:21)
“Kullu Amri’in Bimā Kasaba Rahīnun”
“Every person, for what he earned, is retained.” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says in this ayah that everyone is responsible for their own actions. Therefore, the religion of Islām is a religion of tolerance. A Muslim is tolerant. He strives to do the order of Allāh ﷻ. He is responsible for himself not for anyone else. He himself will be on the right way. He also advises others. Those who want accept. Those who don’t will not.
The religion of Islām, as we said, is a religion of tolerance. We don’t harm anyone. A person says “it is dunyā” about what is done and what he sees. And he tolerates. If it’s good, he thanks Allāh ﷻ. If it’s not good, he tolerates it too. You can’t force them to do something. If you force them to do it your way, this time there will be a fight. And you’ll create bigger problems.
That’s why, whatever it is, you’ll say that’s how much they understand. This man did this. He understands that much. Because he doesn’t understand more, there’s nothing we can do. We can’t do anything else. We gave him an advice. It is possible if he wants to learn something. If he doesn’t want it, there’s no problem. Don’t put him in your mind. Don’t tire your mind. He’s on his own, and you’re on your own. Move on. Go. Don’t stop. There’s already enough problems, responsibilities, and setbacks to stop you in dunyā. Don’t even put one more in your mind. He or whoever does something.
“He did this. This one did it.” Don’t give them any importance. Be tolerant towards them. Allāh ﷻ has given them that much of understanding. If they don’t do it, don’t be ignorant like them. Don’t think the way they think. Don’t understand the way they understand. What you must understand is what Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has said, what our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam has said. All 124,000 Prophets were sent to tell these things. Don’t care about what ignorant people do leaving what’s important. Stay away from them. If you see it, tolerate it. Don’t give it any importance. Don’t make a problem. They are unimportant things. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla made them there to keep you busy. If you don’t give them importance, you will draw nearer to Allāh ﷻ.
People – of course, doing this is not as easy as saying it. But gradually, you can tolerate it a little bit once, more the next time, and more the next time. People learn with training and experience. Every time, you can tolerate more. You can easily overcome those things you see. That’s why, it doesn’t happen all at once. It happens gradually, in shā’a Llāh.
We must be careful. A believer needs to be more careful about this matter. What we mean by the believer is the people of ṭarīqah, those who have entered ṭarīqah in order to train their ego. Training the ego is also tolerance. It is tolerating people. You will address everyone according to their mind. You will address everyone according to their love. May Allāh ﷻ make it easy for us, in shā’a Llāh. May He ﷻ put this tolerance in us. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
