Safar’s Last Wednesday

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Today is the last Wednesday of the blessed month of Safar. MashaAllah, this month of Safar has passed. Years pass. It is the decree of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla; nothing remains still. Even mountains move and pass.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla states in Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n that nothing remains the same; everything changes. Therefore, this month of Safar is a heavy month. It is Allāh’s ﷻ wisdom; there is wisdom in everything.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla created this month of Safar as a heavy one. But shukr to Allāh ﷻ, it has passed, and may Allāh ﷻ grant us to spend it with His ﷻ blessings, in shā’a Llāh.

Today is the last Wednesday, so it is the heaviest day. With Allāh’s ﷻ permission, we will pass it by giving sadaqah, reciting tasbih, and repenting and seeking forgiveness. With Allāh’s ﷻ permission, this too will pass safely.

Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said to his companions, “Whoever brings me the glad tidings of the end of the month of Safar, shall also receive glad tidings.” Shukr to Allāh ﷻ – today is not the last day; tomorrow is the last day, but today is the heaviest day.

Therefore, we must certainly fulfill our duties, and most importantly, give sadaqah. Sadaqah wards off all calamities and afflictions, prolongs life, and is beneficial in everything. Give it today so that it passes easily. By the grace of Allāh ﷻ, it will pass easily.

As we said, they say, “This too shall pass”; nothing stays put. You can’t hold on to it. You can’t hold on to days, months, or years. It is Allāh’s ﷻ command; the good and bad, everything will pass.

But may Allāh ﷻ grant us to spend these days, years, months, and weeks in ways that please Him ﷻ. May we live them all as He ﷻ loves and wants, in shā’a Llāh. May we not deviate from His ﷻ pleasure. May Allāh ﷻ protect us.

In shā’a Llāh, the next month will be Rabi’ al-Awwal, the month of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. In shā’a Llāh, it will be the blessed days of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam’s birth; the Mawlid. May their grace and barakah alleviate the burden of this month of Safar.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has created everything, and He ﷻ has created it beautifully. He ﷻ has also created good; everything is good, but only if mankind choose good does it become good. If they do not choose it, may Allāh ﷻ protect us, bad occurs.

May Allāh ﷻ ﷻ protect us, and may we reach Rabi’ al-Awwal safely, in shā’a Llāh.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
