Reward of Feeding The Fasting

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is saying, “A person giving Iftar attains as much Thawab as the people he feeds.” You may give food at Iftar, says our Holy Prophet ﷺ. If someone cannot give food, even if he gives half a date, the reward for that half date will be as much as those who fast. And it won’t be deducted from their Thawab.

Their Thawab remains the same. Thawab remains the same both for those who give Iftar and for those who fast. There is nothing as it being deducted from them. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla gives the same Thawab to people.

When people who don’t believe in Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla in this world give something, they think it will be deducted from them and the opposite side will be in profit.

Therefore, there is always envy, rivalry and intolerance. But there isn’t such a thing in the sight of Allah ﷻ. Everything is in Allah’s ﷻ Hand. He ﷻ gives without fearing. No matter how rich these people are, they still give with fear; whereas it won’t finish if they spend for a thousand years. Yet, many people cannot give. May Allah ﷻ protect us.

Therefore, Islam, the holy way of our Holy Prophet ﷺ is beauty. It is beauty for people. And this month, the month of Ramadan is even more beautiful. May Allah ﷻ bless it for all of you.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
