Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:
إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَن تُؤَدُّوا الْأَمَانَاتِ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهَا
(Qur’ān 04:58). ‘Inna Allāha Ya’murukum ‘An Tu’uaddū Al-‘Amānāti ‘Ilá ‘Ahlihā’, ‘Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due.’ Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla is giving an order in Qur’an ‘Azimu sh-Shan, “Whatever you’ve been trusted, give it to whom they are due, give it to their owners”.
Whoever keeps the trust gets Barakah. Whoever betrays the trust will not have any benefit. Many people think they gained something when they have something valuable in their hands. Oftentimes they don’t want to give it back. They want to keep it. That doesn’t bring any benefit. That brings harms and no benefit, because it becomes Haram. Whoever consumes Haram does not have any goodness, neither in his body, nor in his soul. Deliver that trust to its destination, give it to its owner, says Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. It is something both physical and spiritual. People who hold the trust such as chairmanship, position of Sheikh or other; all those are a trust too. Whoever is given it, he must deliver it. It must be delivered to whomever it belongs to. This is important.
In general, things given to mankind and Haram seem sweet to people’s egos. People get greedy. When they are greedy, they consume poison. If you say, “Give it to me. Let me keep it” regarding this thing that just looks nice, it is poison. It will kill you. It will bring no benefit at all. It will make you crawl and lead you to all kinds of badness.
Make sure to give the trust to their owners. It can be inheritance or other things. They must certainly be given. Beware of obeying your ego and shaytan and taking that poison. Don’t take that bad thing. It will be nice when you give it to its owner on time. It will bring great benefit to you then. But if you decide to take it to yourself, it will be very harmful to you. It will be a big disaster. May Allah ﷻ protect us. May Allah ﷻ not keep us liable for anyone’s right insha’Allah. The rights of servants are tough. May Allah ﷻ protect us.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
