Resemble the Example of Awliyā’u Llāh

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

(Qur’ān 10:62–63)

‘Alā inna Awliyā’ Llahi lā khawfun ‘alayhim wa lā hum yaḥzanūn (62) ‘Alladhīna āmanū wakānū yattaqūn (63)

“Verily on the friends of Allah there is no fear, nor shall they grieve (62). Those who believed and have been pious (63).” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

The beloved servants of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla have no fear and no sorrow. Because they fear Allāh ﷻ and they obey Allāh ﷻ. When that happens, there becomes no fear or anxiety for them. Because we came from Allāh ﷻ and to Allāh ﷻ we return. The place we came from is clear, the place we will go to is clear. Awliyā’uLlah’s hearts are truly satisfied. Therefore, they have no fear, and no sadness. They speak the truth, they enjoin what is good and avoid what is bad, they strive to make the people avoid badness.

Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, this is how our Pir, our Shaykh, our father Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim was. He walked on this way for more than ninety years. He reached the Presence of Allāh ﷻ with that clean way. It was like yesterday. Years pass by in an instant. If a person thinks about that, he should think that the things he does in dunyā should not be in vain, and he should act accordingly.

“لَّقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ”, “Laqad Kāna Lakum Fī Rasūli Llāhi ‘Uswatun Hasana”, “There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent example.” (Qur’ān 33:21). There is an excellent example for you from the life of our Holy ‎Prophet ﷺ and from himself ﷺ, says Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. The ṣaḥābah, mashāyikh and awliyā’ who followed his ﷺ way, are also the same on this way and are examples.

To become a good person, you have to resemble them. The more we resemble them, the better, more beautiful we become. The more we don’t want to resemble them, the more weird a person becomes. Not a little, but very weird. Because he would be harming himself and doing badness.

May Allāh ﷻ raise Mawlānā’s maqāms in shā’a Llāh. “A person will be summoned with the one whom he loves,” says our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. We love them. In shā’a Llāh, there is a short interval in dunyā, then we will be together eternally, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
