Remember: Dunyā Is Temporary!

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِ

“Wa Mā Al-Ĥayāatu Ad-Dunyā ‘Illā Matā’u Al-Ghurūr”

(Qur’ān 57:20)

“And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion.” Sadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Life, as Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, is temporary, not permanent. Millions and billions have come and gone before us. Allāh ﷻ says everything has an end.

Human life is also coming to an end, just like the life of the world. The descendants of Adam ‘alayhi s-salām, as our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said, the last prophet has come very close to the Day of Judgment, 1400 years and more, about 1500 years, as our ‎Prophet ﷺ said.

Now, as the end has approached, people are more engrossed in dunyā. They are completely unaware. They don’t realize what’s happening, what’s left. But Allāh’s ﷻ command will be. Allāh’s ﷻ command is that everything has an end. And dunyā also has an end.

Therefore, we are living in the end of time. Everything is upside down. Nothing is clear. But, “وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مُّعْرِضُونَ”, “Wa Hum Fī Ghaflatin Mu`riđūn”, “While they are in heedlessness turning away.” (Qur’ān 21:01). People are in heedlessness. They have no awareness. They are immersed in dunyā, going on and on. There is an end to this.

Even if the end of the world didn’t come yet, there is an end to mankind. That is, the death of a person is his qiyāmah, says our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. But normally, the end of the world has already come also.

Therefore, people must wake up a little. You live in this world, fine, anything is okay. Live as you wish, but fulfill the commands of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Don’t forget Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Don’t forget the Hereafter. Those are the things that will benefit you. This world is temporary, a game, an amusement. It comes and goes like a mirage upon a person.

Therefore, do not believe in it. Do not believe in dunyā. Believe in the ākhirah. Do not believe in what is temporary. It will pass, just like everyone else, as we said, billions have come and gone before us. And those who will come after us will also pass, but there is not much time left. Let mankind know the value of their time and be on the way of Allāh ﷻ.

As we said, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has given everything beautiful. He ﷻ has given us favors. You can benefit from them. The main thing of benefiting is to do so without forgetting Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Do everything beautifully, eat, drink, travel. But do not forget Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.

Fulfill His ﷻ commands as well. Because if you do not do that, then no matter how good everything you have is, it is of no benefit. The benefit is the pleasure of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. May Allāh ﷻ be pleased with us, in shā’a Llāh. May we attain His ﷻ pleasure, in shā’a Llāh.
