Remember Allāh ﷻ Before You’re Reminded

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

“إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُمْسِكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ أَن تَزُولَا ۚ وَلَئِن زَالَتَا إِنْ أَمْسَكَهُمَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّن بَعْدِهِ”

(Qur’ān 35:41)

“Inna Allāha Yumsiku s-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arda ‘An Tazūlā ۚ Wa La’in Zālatā ‘In ‘Amsakahumā Min ‘Aĥadin Min Ba’dih”

“Indeed, Allah holds the heavens and the earth, lest they cease. And if they should cease, no one could hold them [in place] after Him.” Sadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is the one who created the earth and heavens in such an order and alignment. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla holds them [in place]. Everything happens by His ﷻ command, by His ﷻ permission. Nothing happens by itself. No movement happens by itself. Indeed, it is by the order of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.

This Ayah Karīmah says, the heavens and the earths are held by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. If He ﷻ does not hold them, they will be blown away; nothing will remain. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is the one who creates with His ﷻ will. Nothing happens without His ﷻ command.

People try to do things without realizing their own worth. And then, they think they are something. But Allāh ﷻ reminds people with a little thing. Everyone says Allāh ﷻ then. They have to say Allāh ﷻ.

That’s why, we shouldn’t forget. This earth and heavens are standing by His ﷻ command and His ﷻ permission. Everything in the place we live in, in dunyā is standing on the edge, as we said. But nothing happens unless it’s by Allāh’s ﷻ permission. It happens when the time comes.

This earth is full of things. We went to Italy years ago. There is one city that’s under a volcano. That sea there has such a big thing in it that if it explodes nothing would remain from this world. This is one of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla’s creations. There are many and many more.

That’s why, we should to turn to Allāh ﷻ. We must repent and ask for forgiveness. They say, “What should we do?” People are scared now. Ask Allāh ﷻ for forgiveness, “Forgive us.” Repent and ask forgiveness. “Forgive our sins. We are weak servants. We repent for what we’ve done, for not remembering Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.” That’s what must be done. Return to Him ﷻ, and ask for His ﷻ mercy.

Some people don’t say anything at first, then after this [earthquake] happens, they ask forgiveness. “What kind of foolish people are these. There’s no one controlling earth, there’s nothing like that.” But when such a thing happens, they don’t remember those things. Everyone says Allāh ﷻ then. They must say so. You must say Allāh ﷻ before these things happen and beg Allāh ﷻ. May Allāh ﷻ forgive us. May He ﷻ protect us, in shā’a Llāh.

The beautiful side of the Muslim is that he always remembers Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, he always asks for help from Him ﷻ. No one else can help him if he asks from. No one can stand in front of these things. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla can. Beg to Allāh ﷻ to protect us. May Allāh ﷻ protect us, in shā’a Llāh. We came from Him ﷻ and we will return to Him ﷻ. Allāh’s ﷻ will has been fulfilled, in shā’a Llāh. May those afraid get well soon.

As we said, ask Allāh ﷻ for mercy. Repent and ask for forgiveness for Allāh ﷻ to forgive us. Strive to complete the shortcomings. Ṣadaqah is very important. What’s most important is Ṣadaqah. It protects and keeps one safe. It cures illness, and it also wards off accidents and afflictions, in shā’a Llāh.

May Allāh ﷻ help us. May Allāh ﷻ protect us, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ grant people īmān. May those who repent keep their repentance, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
