Oppression Is Darkness

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

وَلَا تَرْكَنُوا إِلَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا فَتَمَسَّكُمُ النَّارُ

(Qur’ān 11:113)

‘Wa lā tarkanū ‘ila l-ladhīna zalamū fatamassakumu n-Nār’

‘And do not incline toward those who do wrong, lest you be touched by the Fire.’ Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Do not associate with the oppressors, do not incline towards them. The fire will touch the person who inclines towards them. They too will suffer harm. Always be with good people. Stay away from the oppressors. The oppressors think of no one but themselves. Their only desire is to oppress, nothing else.

The world is filled with oppression. There is no trace of justice anywhere. In no country – some people here say, “There is justice in Europe.” That is the biggest lie. They only show what they want to show, they paint a picture as if there is justice.

But in reality, their other face is not like that at all. Therefore, do not look for justice in the world. There is nothing but oppression. So, you must seek refuge in Allāh ﷻ. Do not commit oppression, do not oppress anyone, in shā’a Llāh. That is what is important.

In this world, don’t be with the oppressors. And you must be very vigilant. Don’t dwell too much on who does what and why, who is right or wrong. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gives everyone their punishment and reward.

Therefore, protect yourself. Do not interfere in the actions of others. Otherwise, you will become complicit in their oppression. Then, the fire of Hell will touch you too, and it will harm you.

Therefore, protect yourself. Do not comment on anything. Allāh ﷻ will be with you. Otherwise, do not incline towards them and say, “This is like this, that is like that,” because there is no humanity left anymore, unfortunately.

Oppression is everywhere. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. We do not accept oppression. We are not with the oppressors. May Allāh ﷻ not separate us from His ﷻ way. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. It is said, “الظلم ظلمات”, “Adh-Dhulmu dhulumat”, Oppression is darkness. It darkens the heart and life of a person.

Therefore, may Allāh ﷻ protect us from oppression, in shā’a Llāh. May He ﷻ send the Sāhib for the Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ and end this oppression. Because there is no other way for it to end. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
