By the Name of Allah, All-Mighty, All-Merciful, Most Beneficent and Most Munificent.
On the last Friday (Thursday night) of Shaʿban Muʿazzam, there are many tajallis (manifestations) on this night. They came down heavily upon me. I kept sleeping and waking. As my spirituality turns completely toward the other side, this physical side becomes heavy and I feel like sleeping, because during sleep the activities of spirituality become easier. It works while sitting, but when you lie down it is of a different quality. It comes down upon my eyes like this, sleep becomes dominant, and I leave myself to sleep.
(Beginning of Jumaah Khutbah)
All praise is for Allah, the One who has opened for those who ask the gates of Paradise, and who has prepared for them bliss and honored them with pure companions and youthful servants. Glory be to the One who has poured out His mercy upon those who fast in the month of Ramadan. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone, without partner. There is none comparable to Him and no equal to Him. He is the One who has bestowed upon us His favors and His excellence. And we bear witness that our Master, our Support, and our Mawla, Muhammad, is His servant, His Beloved, and His Messenger, the intercessor for the sinners on the Day of the Scale, the Day of Judgment.
May Allah Most High send blessings upon him, and upon his family, his children, his wives, his companions, his followers, and the rightly guided, guiding Caliphs after him, and upon his perfected ministers during his time, especially among them the true Imams and Caliphs of the Messenger of Allah, the leaders of the believers, our masters Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali, possessors of great rank and nobility. And upon the rest of the Companions and the Followers. May Allah Most High be pleased with them all.
O believers, this Friday is the last Friday of Shaʿban Muʿazzam. Next Friday, for those who will reach it, and we ask from Janab-ul Mawla to let us reach it, will be the first Friday of Holy Ramadan Sharif. How blessed are those who reach it, and how happy are the believers who reach these months, whose hearts are filled with love for Allah ﷻ and Rasulullah ﷺ, filled with longing and love toward Allah and His Rasul. There is goodness here and hereafter for them.
What a pity for those who cannot appreciate these holy days, especially those who cannot respect, who cannot even think of respecting, Holy Ramadan Sharif. They are khasira d-dunya wa’l-akhirah. They are losers both here and hereafter. They will not truly have dunya. Let them not think they are having it.
When they do not come to Jumaah Prayer, they are losing. Let them not think they are benefiting from not fasting in Ramadan Sharif or from not respecting Ramadan Sharif. They are harming themselves. They are harmed both outwardly and spiritually. Their physical lives become shameful, and their spiritual lives diminish. And there are new troubles now. Countless people are afflicted with these new troubles. What is the least of these troubles? They call it depression.
In the old days, they used to say, “I’m depressed, I will go and have a walk.” They would return to normal after a walk. They would be relieved.
Nowadays, from the moment a person becomes conscious, he is in depression. Because he cannot have everything he wants. When he cannot have it, there is a huge internal explosion, and as a result of that explosion, that person perishes spiritually. Neither with pills, nor with syrups, neither with doctors nor with judges will they prosper. Their job is over. The age of aghas and beys has passed.
Take care before the illness comes.
Listen carefully. Listen carefully to this matter. It is good when a person takes precautions. Take care before the illness comes. They used to say, “See when you are sick.” When you are caught by an illness, you cannot even have a bite. Now they are not asking. Everyone is depressed. They go to doctors for check-ups. A doctor checks and says, “Ya Hu, you are like iron, you are a healthy woman. You do not have anything. Let me examine your mind.” When he says so, she becomes happy. “Where will you examine?”
Doctor says, “There is a neurology hospital in Nicosia. They do not like to call it a mental hospital now. They call it a neurological centre.”
Woman says, “Why do you not say it is a mental hospital? May Allah keep us away from it.”
A mind is the greatest blessing Janab-ul Haqq granted to His servants. A person can guard himself with his mind. He can find his way and path. As soon as the mind is gone, he’s not good anymore. He falls to an animal level. He is finished. Therefore, “You do not have anything. We will only examine your mind. Come.”
“Where shall I come?”
“There is a neurology hospital in Nicosia. Go there. Let us see what they say for you.”
May Allah ﷻ not lead us to that hospital. As soon as you enter the door, if you are partially crazy, you become completely crazy before you come out.
What is the reason? They do not investigate the root of it. They send people to a mental hospital, but the doctor in the mental hospital may be partially crazy together with them. They say that someone who sits with people for forty days becomes one of them. Those around crazy ones not for forty but for one hundred forty days become partially crazy too. In short, this matter is not being examined properly.
The person’s body is healthy. They are not asking what other cause there may be. If the body is fine and nothing is seen, then there is a deficiency in spirituality that has caused this condition. He has money, a car, a wife, a horse, everything but comfort. A man says “I am depressed.” What shall we do? Shall we tie your feet and throw you into the sea? What will your condition be? It is not an illness of the physical. It belongs to spirituality.
Do you pay attention to the spirituality of these people? Do you meet their spiritual needs? What are their needs? Can you cover them? Do you give such education to your children? You teach them foolish things with useless inventions. Inventions do not make a stomach full.
If you bring a plastic car, plastic fruit, and plastic vegetables, what is the use? Why do you take them in? What will their use be? They will not fill the stomach. They are of no benefit. Bring the real ones. They cannot give because they cannot cover the spiritual needs of these people. They have become irritated and confused.
A little more and perhaps everyone will go crazy. Now the condition of people can still be tolerated. We tolerate a lot. May it not become so bad that we long for these days. But they continue pushing ahead. After being pushed and pressed, it will burst.
Now there is nothing yet. They said to a man in a hospital, “You are only raising dust. We are just holding the tail of a bear so that the bear scratches and raises dust.” When you pull off the tail of the bear, then you have real trouble. The explosion comes when the bear is released. Now there is nothing.
The time will come when you will not find anything with your money. I lived through the Second World War, sixty or seventy years ago. I know well the conditions of the markets, how we could not buy bread for money, how we could not find bulghur or wheat. There was no pasta, no rice. I know it well. You cannot buy with money. You are on this island. Do not think they will send you ships full of food so that you eat and throw the half away. No. Therefore, be cautious.
There is nothing yet. We are comfortable, very comfortable. We have to make a lot of shukr to JanabAllah. Something will happen to those who do not make shukr. If you want to know what is hunger, fast in Ramadan and taste it.
Now people’s mouths chew everything they want for twenty-four hours. If they do not find something, they chew gum like camels. People of this time, from childhood, always have something in their hands to eat. They do not eat at home but instead eat this and that in the streets. They drink coke. Adults drink beer. More desperate ones drink alcohol. They eat everything. Their mouths always chewing. The time will come. We are on an island. They will fall into such a condition, where they will not find what they want. They will search in the garbage.
They have bad habits. They got such bad habits during the last thirty years. Instead of gathering to make shukr, they opened themselves (to bad habits). Next week is Ramadan Sharif. Allah ﷻ is watching. He says: “I’m looking at My servants one more time. Let us see if they will truly fast, and if they will take Ramadan seriously.”
A war is waiting at the door. A war is not far. Do not think that you can protect yourself or hide yourself. You are in the open. There is no protection for anyone except the one whom Allah ﷻ protects and hides. Certainly some will be swept away and suffer. Some will go at once and others will suffer greatly. Therefore, the time is coming when everyone will receive what they deserve.
Ramadan Sharif is coming. Once more Janab-ul Mawla will look. “Do they know Me, or not? Do they know themselves? Do they know who they are? How is humanity on earth? How did they appear? What did they appear for? Did they look for it? Did they ask what they were created for? They will come to their senses. If not, we’ll leave them again.”
Then after this Eid there will be another Eid. Do not think that reaching one guarantees reaching the next. Life is not promised, and conditions may change before the next one arrives. We seek refuge in Allah ﷻ. You must not leave your fasting. Whoever openly does not fast may not reach the next year. If a war begins, many will vanish in it. It is a sign of Divine anger.
Mountains are exploding. Fire is billowing like the fire of hell. Do not think that fire comes from volcanoes only. Janab-ul Haqq can raise a volcano from wherever He wills, whenever He wills. Any place of the world can explode. A sign of Divine anger is not necessarily a volcano. A hurricane may come, a strong storm may come. It will destroy houses. They are not coming to their senses, not taking heed. Floods are coming and covering the land. They are not taking heed, still saying it’s nature. Everywhere is shaken with calamities and they are still saying it is nature.
Do not say nature. Say Allah ﷻ. Who is nature? Where is it? Where does this nature rule from? Tell me. They have degraded these people with inventions and Muslims are following them as well. What a pity! The time is coming when everyone will receive what they deserve. Pay attention to Ramadan Sharif, respect it, and you will find peace.
JanabAllah opens the doors of paradise in Ramadan Sharif.
We read the first khutbah for Ramadan as a preparation. JanabAllah opens the doors of paradise in Ramadan Sharif. For those who know themselves and keep the orders, the doors of the eight paradises are open. For those who do not know, a fire of hell will be sent upon earth. Watch yourself. Guard your religion. Guard your faith.
We are not without religion and faith. We did not come from families of unbelievers without religion or faith. Seven generations before us were Muslim. What have we become? What has happened to us? Why did we change?
There were Greeks, our companions on the island. Did they change their religion? Did they destroy their churches? Did they change their priests? Did they change their alphabet and their traditions? Did they abandon their religion, or did they remain firm upon it? Do they still preserve their faith?
What happened to us? Is there a purer religion than Islam that we chose to follow instead? After leaving this religion, what have we become? Where have we reached?
Very soon, the time will come when our true state will stand before us.
Truly, the best of speech and the most eloquent of expressions is the Speech of Allah, the Sovereign, the Mighty, the All-Knowing. As Allah, Blessed and Exalted, says in His Noble Speech: “And when the Qur’an is recited, listen to it attentively and remain silent so that you may receive mercy.” (7:204) I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan. In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.
“And I did not create jinn and mankind except that they may worship Me.” (51:56) All praise is for Allah, complete and perfect praise. May prayers and peace be upon our Messenger Muhammad, and upon his family and all his companions. In honoring the Prophet and exalting the magnificence of the rank of His Chosen One, He, Glorious and Exalted, says, informing and commanding: “Indeed Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who believe, send blessings upon him and greet him with peace.” (33:56)
O Allah, send blessings and peace upon our Master Muhammad. Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs. There is no power and no might except by Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.
Al-Fatiha.

This series was initiated by the SufiHub Team in honour of the 2nd Urs of our beloved Sheikh, the late Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Sattar Khan, who lovingly dedicated himself to transcribing and summarising the daily sohbahs of Mawlana Sheikh Nazimق.
It was through this blessed service that he began his journey on this beautiful Way in 2008, remaining steadfast upon it until his final breath in 2023. Today, his legacy continues at our Zawiyah at A’Posh Bizhub Singapore through his representatives Sidi Shalihin, Ismail, and Syed Muhammad, who humbly carry forward the path he sincerely paved.
We pray that our dear Sheikh Abdul Sattar has been reunited with his beloved Mawlana Sheikh Nazimق and all our Grandshaykhs, and that their light continues to guide us always on the way of Haqq.
The text was originally taken from Liberating the Soul – A Guide for Spiritual Growth by Shaykh Nazim Adil al-Haqqaniق. With love and sincere intention, parts of this sohbah have been gently revised by the SufiHub Team for clarity and contextual relevance.
If you wish to share it on your platforms, kindly post it in full and ensure that proper credit is given to all its sources. For this is adab, the very core of our beautiful religion and way.
Should you have any queries or concerns, you are always welcome to reach us at thesufihubteam@gmail.com.
Wassalam.
