Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

“فَاسْتَقِمْ كَمَا أُمِرْتَ وَمَن تَابَ مَعَكَ”
(Qur’ān 11:112)
“Fa-staqim kamā umirta wa-man tāba ma‘aka”
“So remain on a right course as you have been commanded, [you] and those who have turned back with you [to Allah ].” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
This ayah in Sūrat Hūd, our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said, “It turned my beard white.”
It seems like a small ayah, but it is the most important thing for all of mankind. Istiqāmah means being upon the truth. Being right in everything. Being right in what you do. Being right in treating people.
Now, when mankind does the right things, shayṭān tells him, “You are losing a lot. Leave that. Do crooked things, you will win more.” He deceived all people. This is the game of shayṭān. That’s why, the person who does so, who deviates from Istiqāmah, won’t benefit from anything.
When you are upon Istiqāmah, the ināyah (protection) of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla will be upon you. His ﷻ barakah will be upon you. You will gain a thousand times more than what you would gain from the evil, cheating and lying. And you will gain His ﷻ barakah.
What you earn by crooked means will be of no benefit to you; you will earn nothing but harm. Because you are doing fake and false things, and you are harming both people and yourself.
Everyone sees the others, “This is vigilance. This is smart work. When you do this, you win. Don’t do what’s right like the other fool ones. There’s no use of them. This treatment, being right does not bring any benefit.”
Whereas Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla commands it. Be upon what’s right. Do not stray from the right way. Do not separate from what’s right. Do that so that all of humanity can benefit.
If people don’t do so: our worldly state is right before us. There are very few people upon Istiqāmah. But it doesn’t matter. If all people go astray from the way, if they separate from Istiqāmah, it is not a must for you to follow them, it is not obligatory. You do not have to be like them.
Follow the command of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, and do not look at others. Everyone is responsible for themselves. In ākhirah, both his rewards and his sins will be upon him. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May Allāh ﷻ not separate us all from Istiqāmah.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
