Islām Is Only Goodness

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

“يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اصْبِرُوا وَصَابِرُوا وَرَابِطُوا وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ”

(Qur’ān 03:200)

“Yā ayyuhā lladhīna amanū asbirū wa ṣābirū wa rābiṭū wa t-taqū Llāhu la’allakumu tuflihūn”

“O you who have believed, be patient and endure and remain stationed and fear Allah that you may be successful.” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

He ﷻ says, do good and be patient. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is saying in this Ayah Karimah, be patient and do good all-together. It is the order of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.

What is the religion of Islām? It is the religion of goodness. And to keep away from evil. Goodness – what we mean by goodness is every kind of good, every kind of beauty. This order is the order of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.

Therefore, no harm comes from a Muslim. No harm comes from the person who is on the way of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. The one who harms follows his own ego. There is no such thing [as harm] in Islām. There is goodness for everyone. There is mercy for everyone. It is to give all kinds of beauty for everyone.

This is the way of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. It has an opposite: the way of shayṭān is the way of evil. He wants badness for everyone. He does not want goodness. He causes harm. He is hostile towards people. That way is the way of shayṭān. Those who follow that way will be subject to shayṭān.

The way of Allāh ﷻ is the way of beauty both for themselves and for others. So, when you do good, you are first doing it for yourself. Before others, you are defeating your ego and doing goodness. And that goodness will give you every kind of beauty. It will give you peace. You will rise in rank in the sight of Allāh ﷻ. Your ākhirah will be prosperous.

If you do evil, it is its opposite. Doing evil is also – Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla forgives. If you ask Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla for forgiveness, He ﷻ forgives. If there is the right of a person – you must apologize to those people who have rights. If they have rights, giving them their rights is a good deed that you would again be doing to yourself.

Because there is a day when everything will be accounted for. Don’t leave anything for that day, Allāh ﷻ willing. May Allāh ﷻ help us. May we not usurp anyone’s rights. May we not oppress anyone, in shā’a Llāh. May we live with the beauty of Islām, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
