AlhamduliLlah tonight our gathering, all of our Murids, beloved ones for Allah ﷻ and Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. We meet on the first night of Rabih Al-Awwal. It is a blessing from Allah ﷻ for us insha’Allah. He ﷻ plans everything, and we follow His ﷻ plan. So it is a good plan to meet in this night here with our beloved people.
AlhamduliLlah this month of Safar is finished because it was a heavy month. This year, it was more heavy than other years. Insha’Allah for the Barakah of the month of the Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, it will change for goodness and take this heaviness off people insha’Allah. Our gathering here is for the love of Allah ﷻ and love of Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Insha’Allah you’re coming from far places, far distances just for this purpose, to be more near to Him ﷻ insha’Allah.
Sometimes people think that when they’re going to see some important thing that they can go anywhere, but for the sake of Allah ﷻ it becomes difficult for people. But AlhamduliLlah our people are here with love and with happiness insha’Allah. Because to do a good thing or to be with good people, many things prevent you. Mawlana Sheikh AbduLlah was every time saying we have “The Four Enemies.” These enemies are: Dunya, shaytan, Hawa (desires), Nafs (ego). These four enemies: first shaytan, Nafs, Dunya, Hawa which means following desires. When a person wants to do a good thing, these four enemies come against him attacking him. So people say, “These people are bad people, they’re doing bad thing, but they [four enemies] don’t make it difficult for them. When we want to do something, it is difficult for us.” Many people are asking this. This is because all these enemies are against us. But when they’re doing a bad thing, they’re with them, not enemies for them, they’re even pushing them [to do it].
For this, many people sometimes their ego becomes on them and they come against the will of Allah ﷻ and object, “Why for me! Why did this happen for me!”, they say. A Mu’min, believer must – it is not easy of course and difficult – but when something difficult comes upon him, he must know this is also a test for him and Allah ﷻ will reward him for this test.
For this, we are following Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, how he ﷺ lived, how he ﷺ was suffering with his ﷺ Companions yet they were happy because they knew they are in the right [way] and nothing can take them out of this way. Many times, for many days, they couldn’t find something to eat. They were patient. AlhamduliLlah nobody was running from this situation. They were patient and following Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. And Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam was also patient; because all of this universe is under his ﷺ order. If he ﷺ wants anything, Allah ﷻ will give him ﷺ without asking. Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam has many miracles. A miracle which thousands of people saw and lived by this miracle. Once they were in war and there was no water, so water came out from his ﷺ hand. All the Sahabah, thousands of Sahabah were drinking from his ﷺ hand. Also one Sahabah invited him ﷺ to his house. They made a little bit food and invited the Prophet ﷺ. Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam invited all the Sahabah. The Sahabah was afraid on how will that be. He asked his wife, and she was also afraid that it wasn’t enough. Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam came and made Dua, all the Sahabah ate and still the same [amount of] food was there.
The Sahabah knew the Mu’jizat (miracles) of Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, but they weren’t complaining, “O Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam make a miracle! Make us not to be hungry like this! We can eat everyday by your Karamah, Mu’jizah.” They were just not saying anything. This is the difference between the Sahabah and companions/Apostles of Sayyidina Isa ‘alayhi s-salam. Poor Sayyidina Isa! The companions of Sayyidina Isa ‘alayhi s-salam were eating every day, not hungry, nothing. But even with this, they asked, “If your God, Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla can send us food, feast to eat and be believers.” They said this. This was a very strange thing because they were seeing every day thousands of people coming and by miracle of Sayyidina Isa ‘alayhi s-salam they get cured and went, and dead people coming back again to life, living many years after this. All of this and still they didn’t have belief in their hearts. And their way of saying this make them to be mentioned in Qur’an Azimu sh-Shan, Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla’s word described this to people to give an example how people must be with good behavior, with Adab with Allah ﷻ, with Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and all prophets, to have Adab with them. This question is such a nonsense question! The question: “If your Lord Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla can.” What is this question! Nothing is impossible for Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla! And you’re eating every day from what Allah ﷻ created, what you’re eating is not coming from yourself. All of this created is from Allah ﷻ. And Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla was not happy saying, “Ok We will send this but if they will not believe again, they will be punished forever.”
This is how Sayyidina Isa ‘alayhi s-salam was also in test with these people; the nearest people to him were saying this. AlhamduliLlah none of the Sahabah of Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam were asking such a thing. Because they know and their belief is (more) stronger with Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam’s Barakah, with Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla’s support, they gave them real Iman. Iman is the most precious thing for human beings. So when they have this Iman, nothing is important for them: if they eat, if they don’t eat, if they drink or not drink. Everything is not important. For the others, what’s important is to eat and test the Prophet if what he’s saying is true or not true. You see how Iman is very important for human beings.
AlhamduliLlah we are from Ummat Muhammad ﷺ, Sayyidina Muhammad salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. All prophets were also wishing to be from Ummah of Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, Sayyidina Muhammad salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. When Sayyidina Isa comes, Allah ﷻ will make him from Ummat Muhammad salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. AlhamduliLlah Mubarak this month! May Allah ﷻ give us from His ﷻ Barakah and from ‘Ihsan (beneficence) insha’Allah. May Allah ﷻ reward you. May Allah ﷻ give you happiness here and hereafter insha’Allah.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
