Hold Firm to the Rope of Salvation

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَوُا الزَّكَاةَ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

(Qur’ān 02:277)

“Inna Al-Ladhīna ‘Āmanū Wa ‘Amilū s-Sāliĥāti Wa ‘AqāmūAş-Şalāata Wa ‘Ātaw Az-Zakāata Lahum ‘Ajruhum ‘Inda Rabbihim Wa Lā Khawfun ‘Alayhim Wa Lā Hum Yaĥzanūn”

“Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds and establish prayer and give zakah will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, on whoever has īmān and believes in Allāh ﷻ there is no fear, no sorrow and no sadness. One should be on the right way. The right way is the way of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. From the time of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu alayhi wa-sallam until now there is only one way.

His ﷺ way is the perpetual one. Many fabricated things have emerged that are against him ﷺ or do not fully comply with his ﷺ way. They have all been exhausted and gone. Of course, those that remain have no effect; they have names but no bodies. There are those that are like that, but of course, shayṭān never gets tired. New things are constantly appearing as ways. However, the way of our Prophet ﷺ is the firm, straight way; his ﷺ way. That way continues.

Our Prophet’s ﷺ way continues until qiyāmah. The one who enters that way will be safe. The one who goes out of the way will be destroyed if he does not return. His life, his existence has no value at all. There is nothing but harm. On the Day of Judgment, they will say, “يَا لَيْتَنِي كُنتُ تُرَابًا”, “Yā laytanī kuntu turāban”, “Oh, I wish that I were dust!” (Qur’ān 78:40). I wish I were dust so that I would not have done what I did. But being dust there is only once. After that, it is a forever loss.

Therefore, hold firm to the way of our Holy Prophet ﷺ.

“وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا”, “Wa-‘taṣimū biḥabli Llāhi jamī‘an wa lā tafarraqū”, “And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided.” (Qur’ān 03:103). This is the command of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. He ﷻ says, hold firm to this rope of salvation so that the waters do not carry you away, so that the floods do not carry you away. Hold firmly to it, and you will be saved. If you do not hold firm, your ego, your desires, shayṭān and dunyā will lead you astray. You will be destroyed. May Allāh ﷻ protect us.

These ways are the way of the mashāyikh, the ‘awliyā’, the ṣaḥābah, Ahlu l-Bayt and our Holy Prophet ﷺ. None of them has ever went out of this way. They have walked on this way. Those who have gone out to the other way have gone to loss. Their way has ended; it has been exhausted. Therefore, Allāh ﷻ has bestowed upon us a great gift because we have entered this way. May Allāh ﷻ make it perpetual with His ﷻ will.

Our way, in shā’a Llāh, is a beautiful way. The way of light. The way of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla and our Holy ‎Prophet ﷺ. It is the way of ‘awliyā’. In shā’a Llāh, may we remain steadfast until Mahdi ‘alayhi s-salām appear so that we may meet him, in shā’a Llāh. We make du’ā’ to Him ﷻ. This is the creed of our way. Ahlu s-Sunnah wal Jamā’ah, those who follow the way of our Holy Prophet ﷺ are the people who believe in him ﷺ. Those who do not accept him ﷺ have gone astray. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
