Fitnahs Regarding Qur’ān

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, read the Qur’ān. For every letter you read of the Qur’ān, Allāh ﷻ writes ten good deeds, erases ten sins and raises you by ten ranks, says our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.

Each letter – when you say, Alif, Lām, Mīm. Alif is separate, Lām is a separate letter, and Mīm is a separate letter. That is three letters. Thirty good deeds are written, thirty sins are erased, and you rise by thirty ranks.

So how many are in each line? How many are there on each page? The rewards given by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla and the sins forgiven become in thousands.

That’s why, reading the Qur’ān is a great gain for a Muslim. Now, some people say instead of the Qur’ān, “Let’s read something else instead of reading the Qur’ān. We don’t understand anything from the Qur’ān. It’s in Arabic. Read from a man who’s written many books. Don’t read the Qur’ān. Read the Qur’ān interpretation. It interprets the Qur’ān. That is more important. What you understand is important. This isn’t important at all.”

What’s important is the blessed, holy Qur’ān of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. You read it as it is, as His ﷻ word. Whether you understand it or not. It doesn’t matter. The important thing is that you read it, that it comes out of your mouth, that you pronounce it.

Even if you read collections of interpretations; read it. Read it from morning to evening. You can’t earn the reward of a single letter of the Qur’ān. That’s what it’s like.

That’s why, people are often deceived. “I’ll read the interpretation. I’ll read this, I’ll read that.” Read it. But before that, read the Qur’ān. Certainly, in Arabic. It can be written in other letters, but as for the pronunciation, once it’s read in Arabic, that [other letters] is not important.

Otherwise, instead of saying, “AlhamduliLlahi Rabbi l-‘Ālamīn”, to say “Thank Allāh ﷻ”, reading it as an interpretation or translation is of benefit but as we said, you can never attain the reward of a single letter of the Qur’ān even if you read that [translation] all day.

That’s why, shayṭān does everything he can to deceive people and deprive them of these rewards. Those who are deceived by him or those who follow shayṭān tell people, “You don’t understand it. You should read what you understand.”

No one understands it. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla makes whomever He ﷻ wants understand, and makes whomever He ﷻ wants not to understand. One can know nothing, but he’ll still understand. And one can know everything, but he still won’t understand if Allāh ﷻ doesn’t want him to.

Therefore, this is important. People mostly now say, “Why should we read it in Arabic. Let’s pray in Turkish. Let’s read in English. Let’s read it in French. Let’s read it in a language we understand.” It can’t be as you want. Anyways, people who say those things are those who have nothing to do with prayer, religion, or īmān.

Many who say these things say them just to corrupt religion and īmān. On the other hand, there is a type of Muslims who have nothing to do with ṭarīqah and have been deceived by shayṭān. They say, “Don’t read the Qur’ān. Read other things. That’s more important.”

People need to wake up now. They need to know they’ve strayed from the way. If they say they don’t read the Qur’ān, but read something else instead, that’s a big deal. May Allāh ﷻ protect us, a person might lose his īmān.

May Allāh ﷻ make us from the people of the Qur’ān. The Qur’ān is the greatest benefit. And then there are those who say, “Only read the Qur’ān.” They are another shayṭān. They don’t know anything. They are either ignorant or directly with shayṭān.

Because Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n was revealed through the holy mouth of our Holy ‎Prophet ﷺ. Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam explained it through his ﷺ ḥadīths, states and actions. Those who say they should ignore the ḥadīths, have not accepted our Holy ‎Prophet ﷺ either.

May Allāh ﷻ protect us. There are many fitnahs in the end of times. One must be vigilant. Be vigilant and follow the murshid understanding his actions. Ṭarīqah is indeed necessary for Muslims to go on the right way leading to our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.

May Allāh ﷻ not lead us astray from the right way, in shā’a Llāh.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
