Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

إِنَّ النَّفْسَ لَأَمَّارَةٌ بِالسُّوءِ
(Qur’ān 12:53)
‘Inna An-Nafsa La- ‘Ammāratun Bis-Sū’i’
‘Verily, the (human) ego is inclined to evil.’ Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, the ego commands evil. We must not give it any opportunity. We must not make any concessions. We must distance ourselves as much as we can from evil and sin.
Of course, there is no person who is sinless, nor can we be without sinning. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, “I created mankind to sin then ask for forgiveness so that I may forgive them.“ In that respect, mankind are always sinners. There is no one who does not sin.
There are many sins, both minor and major. They exist so that people seek forgiveness for them. The wisdom of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is beyond comprehension. But He ﷻ shows us the way. You commit a sin, ask for forgiveness, and that sin is both erased and reward is written instead of it. Such is the generosity and bounty of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.
But people follow their egos. Few repent and seek forgiveness, while many do not. Many people fall into sin. And they are not even aware of it. In this time, committing sin is considered a skill.
Someone comes out and says, “This is normal, it’s just a human thing. There’s no such thing as asking forgiveness or apologizing to anyone.” No, you will ask for forgiveness. As we said, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla destroys everything you do, He ﷻ finishes it, erases it, and you receive rewards in its place.
These people without īmān have no luck. The lucky ones are those with iman. If Allāh ﷻ has given you īmān, if you have believed, it is a great favor. There is nothing greater. Because what we do in dunyā will ultimately be of no benefit when we die.
No amount of fun, sinning, or being happy with the sins done will benefit them. They will be punished. When they are believers, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla will certainly grant them forgiveness. They will be free from their sins.
May Allāh ﷻ keep us away from sins. May He ﷻ forgive us our sins, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ accept it from us all.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
