Don’t Insist on the Wrong

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

(Qur’ān 03:135)

“Wa Al-Ladhīna ‘Idhā Faalū Fāĥishatan ‘Aw Žalamū’Anfusahum Dhakarū Allaha Fāstaghfarū Lidhunūbihim Wa ManYaghfiru Adh-Dhunūba ‘Illā Al-Lahu Wa Lam YuşirrūAlá Mā Faalū Wa Hum Yalamūna”

“And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins – and who can forgive sins except Allah? – and [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know.” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, if a person committed a sin, if he doesn’t insist on it, Allāh ﷻ will forgive him. Allāh ﷻ is The Most Forgiving. A person who repents for his sins attains the forgiveness of Allāh ﷻ. If a person commits a sin knowingly and insists on it, then they bring their own punishment upon themselves.

There are some people who followed others, and they made a mistake. There is no need to continue on doing that mistake. Let them return to the way of Allāh ﷻ, so that Allāh ﷻ may forgive them. A person who follows doubtful people and sees them as right, surely, if the way is not right, there is a punishment for that.

Therefore, He ﷻ says, “Turn to Allah.” “فَفِرُّوا إِلَى اللَّهِ”, ‘Fafirrū ilāLlāh’, ‘So flee to Allah.’ (Qur’ān 51:50). Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, “Seek refuge in Allah.” Do not insist. Allāh ﷻ has given everyone mind. He ﷻ has given them free will. He ﷻ has given them what must be done. One should not think that by causing harm to another, they will benefit or earn reward. There is no such thing in Islām.

No matter how much it’s difficult for you, you mustn’t follow your ego. The ego commands everything bad anyways. But some things are even worse. If you go on the right way, your ego will strive a thousand times more to lead you astray from the way, “Is this guy telling the truth? Is he good? Is he bad?” But if you follow a bad guy, it will support you, it will make you believe those people.

That is why, the right way, the way of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, shukr to Allāh ﷻ, the way of ṭarīqah orders that. Those outside of ṭarīqah follow their egos; whoever they are. “He’s a very learned scholar,” people can follow him, but essentially, he has nothing, he has no support. In the end, he who has no Murshid, his Murshid is shayṭān. The Murshid (guide) is only in ṭarīqah. It cannot be any other way. We must be careful about that.

Those who stray from the way should repent and seek refuge in Allāh ﷻ. Allāh ﷻ forgives. Allāh ﷻ is The Most Forgiving. Don’t insist. Insistence, stubbornness is a sign of disbelief. Disbelief comes by stubbornness.

During the time of our Prophet, ṣallá Llāhu alayhi wa sallam, even though the Quraysh kāfirs and so knew what the truth is, they didn’t believe out of arrogance and stubbornness. Even until their last breath, they didn’t believe. When they were about to kill Abu Jahl in the Battle of Badr, he even said this while he was dying, “I know this is the truth, but I don’t accept it.” He perished like that of arrogance.

Therefore, people should not be like him. May they return to the right way, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ forgive us all. May they not lead us astray from the right way. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.

There are recited Qur’an Khatms, Ayāt, Surahs, Yasin, Tasbihāt, Tahlilāt, Salawat, Dalā’il al-Khayrāt. They have entrusted all these beautiful and things beloved to Allāh ﷻ, the word of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, salawāt of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. We gift them firstly to our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, his ﷺ Ahlu l-Bayt and ṣaḥābah, souls of all Anbiya, Awliya, Asfiya.

To the souls of our Mashayikh. To the souls of all our passed ones. To the souls of all Muslims and Mu’mins. May they receive them, in shā’a Llāh. May whatever goals those who recited have be reached. For the strength of our īmān. For happiness here and hereafter. Li-Llahi Ta’āla.

Al-Fatiha.
