Beware of False Testimony

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:

(Qur’ān 06:152).

‘Wa Lā Taqrabū Māla Al-Yatīmi ‘Illā Bi-Atī Hiya ‘Aĥsanu Ĥattá Yablugha ‘Ashuddahu ۖ Wa ‘AwfūAl-Kayla Wa Al-Mīzāna Bil-Qisţi’, ‘And do not approach the orphan’s property except in a way that is best until he reaches maturity. And give full measure and weight in justice.’ Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla says to respect the rights. Don’t take anyone’s right. Allah ﷻ forgives everything. Allah ﷻ is forgiving. But for the right of a servant, you must only ask for his forgiveness, or return his right so that his right is not on your shoulders. If that right remains to Qiyamah, you will have a hard time. Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla will take from your Thawab and give to him. If you don’t have any more Thawab, He ﷻ will load his sins onto you.

Therefore, everyone must return others’ rights in this world. No one should think “I’ve cheated him, I will have profit from that.” That is not profit but loss. That loss can be gone in this world. If you return the right while you’re still alive, it may be gone. But if he doesn’t forgive you, you have a hard time then. You should be careful not to take anyone’s rights while you’re alive. If you’ve taken others’ rights, you should go and ask for their forgiveness and return their rights.

Many people live by as Muslims. But they take others’ rights. It can be spiritually as well, not only physically. They close their eyes on what is right and put them in harm. That means taking the right. You are given a chance to be with the right. If you do the opposite, you commit a very big sin. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says the worst is the false testimony. Our Holy Prophet ﷺ said in one of his ﷺ Hadiths, “The biggest sin is the false testimony.” Then he said again, “It is the false testimony. It is the false testimony.” They said, “If only our Holy Prophet ﷺ stopped saying so.” He ﷺ had repeated it so much, as the worst way of taking someone’s right is by making false testimony. So in order not to make false testimony, we must pay attention to the right spiritually. Not only materially, but also spiritually. May Allah ﷻ protect us. May Allah ﷻ not let us obey our egos. Our egos show the bad as good. Therefore, may Allah ﷻ protect us. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
