Believe Before It’s Too Late

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

وَقُلِ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ فَمَن شَاءَ فَلْيُؤْمِن وَمَن شَاءَ فَلْيَكْفُرْ

(Qur’an 18:29)

“Wa Quli Al-Ĥaqqu Min Rabbikum, Faman Shā’a Falyu’umin Wa Man Shā’a Falyakfur”

“And say, “The truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills – let him believe; and whoever wills – let him disbelieve.” Sadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, “Say the truth.” Haqq means the truth. Anybody who likes to believe can believe. He who doesn’t want to believe can also not believe; be a non-believer. But you must say the truth. People must know the truth. After that, they must decide.

But what’s obligatory or what is it that you must say: you must say truth. To tell those who ask something the truth not lies. Especially the haqq, the way of Allāh ﷻ. Don’t say something wrong by yourself. Don’t invent by yourself and say. You must say what the truth is. No need to be afraid. Because if you are afraid, don’t say then.

But everybody must accept truth. Who accepts the truth, haqq will be safe. Who doesn’t accept, also can be unsafe. They say, “Democracy”; this is the real democracy. Everybody is free to accept or not accept, but they must know that here there’s no problem for them until the end of their life. Until end of their lives, they have a chance to accept before dying.

If they accept, Allāh ﷻ forgives them. If they didn’t accept, that time, it’ll be a big regret. And that regret is not like in dunyā, “I didn’t buy this. I regret it! It was cheap, and now it is expensive.” Still you are in life. But that one, when you regret after you die, this is finished.

So we must say this to people. You must accept this. Allāh ﷻ has given you this chance, your whole life. You can be an unbeliever until of the end of your life, but you don’t know when the end of your life is. You don’t know if you will live ninety years, eighty years, seventy years. Maybe thirty years; it also can finish. Maybe fifty, maybe sixty.

So you don’t have guarantee to make every [bad] thing and after that regret it and ask for forgiveness. Every time, you must ask for forgiveness. There’s no guarantee for life. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla put it and only He ﷻ knows the end of people’s life. So you must be careful not to leave it till the end and after that say, “Yes you are right. You said this, I must’ve believed.” That time it’s too late.

May Allāh ﷻ give hidāyah to these people, and to have good thinking, to be all the time in the way of Allāh ﷻ, to be careful not to be too late, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ save us from our bad ego, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
