Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

“إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ”
(Qur’ān 49:10)
“Innama l-mu’minūna ikhwa fa-‘aslihu bayna akhawaykum wa t-Taqu Allaha La’allakum Turhamoon”
“The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy.” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, Muslims are brothers. Reconcile between brothers. Let there be love between brothers. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is giving this order so that there is no resentment, so that there is no fitnah.
Not many people listen to this order. Shayṭān makes fitnah among many people. When there is fitnah, there is enmity. They are bad towards each other. They do not love each other. When that happens, there is no unity.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla wants unity. Ṭarīqah is in Jam’iyyah, the community; in unity. This is the advice. This is what our ṭarīqah teaches. For Muslim brothers to be united, from wherever they may be. His pain is our pain. His joy is our joy. These are the people Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla loves. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has mercy on them.
Mercy means beauty. If Allāh ﷻ gives mercy to people, they have won. Their lives have been saved. That is mercy. If there is no mercy, the opposite would happen. And the opposite is all kinds of torment, all kinds of trouble. When trouble happens, people live their lives badly. If they do not repent, there is danger in the end. Their īmān becomes in a danger.
Therefore, shukr to Allāh ﷻ He ﷻ created us Muslims. He ﷻ helped us on these ways. We follow ṭarīqah, sharī’ah, the right way, the way of our Prophet ﷺ. Those who follow this, whomever they are, are our brothers. We have nothing with them, we have no problem.
On the contrary, we have more joy because they are on this way. And a lot of our sorrow is for those who have gone astray. Those who go astray from the way and lead others astray are worse. They ruin themselves even worse.
Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu alayhi wa-sallam says, whoever teaches a good thing – teaches means he was a means of guidance for a person – he will have a reward written for him, just like that person. If one then one; two then two; three then three; twenty then twenty; and a thousand reward is written if [he guides] a thousand people. And the reward of those people will not decrease. It will remain the same.
Some people wonder, “Will it be taken away from me because he also gained [reward]?” There’s no such thing. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is generous. There is no such thing as a limit for His ﷻ generosity.
Therefore, if they led people to do evil, the same is for them. If you lead a person astray, you will have as much sins as them. If you lead two people astray, you take [sins] of two people. If you lead a thousand people astray – now many people think they are something. They say, “Let’s do like them.” And when they do, they will be punished. And the person who taught them will be punished in the same way.
So this way, the way of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is like this. When you do a good deed, Allāh ﷻ gives you tenfold. In Ramaḍān, eight hundred thawāb. Allāh ﷻ gives as much as He ﷻ wants. But if he commits a sin, one sin is written. The one who leads astray takes one for each person. He will also be punished. Because he is leading people astray.
If he commits a sin, it is his own sin. It is written down as one. As we said, Allāh ﷻ multiplies the thawāb. But the sin is one. Yet if you lead people astray – if you have led ten people out of the way, don’t think that one person’s sin will be written for you. The sins of those ten will be written for you. If you lead astray a thousand, you will be written a thousand. If you lead astray a million, a million punishments will be for you.
Therefore, we must be careful. This religion is not a toy. Humanity is not a toy. There is an end, an account, a book. There is paradise, there is hell. Let them make their calculations accordingly. This month is a blessed month, the month of Ramaḍān. Let them repent and ask forgiveness from Allāh ﷻ, they will be saved. Otherwise, they will not be saved. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
