Be from the Rijāl

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

“رِجَالٌ لَّا تُلْهِيهِمْ تِجَارَةٌ وَلَا بَيْعٌ عَن ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَإِقَامِ الصَّلَاةِ”

(Qur’ān 24:37)

“Rijālun Lā Tulhīhim Tijāratun Wa Lā BayunAn Dhikri Allāhi Wa ‘Iqāmi Aş-Şalāati”

“[Are] men whom neither commerce nor sale distracts from the remembrance of Allah and performance of prayer.” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has shown us the way and ordered us in this dunyā. He ﷻ says, “You must not get entangled in other games and entertainments on that way.” They are ones who only perform worship, and do not obey orders other than Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla’s orders. He calls them Rijāl.

Rijāl means the most superior of people. Those who control their egos. No trade, no games, entertainment or anything can separate them from the way of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. They are steadfast on this way. No matter what anyone does, no matter how much wealth and property, game and entertainment of dunyā there is, their hearts don’t incline towards it at all. They remain steadfast on the way of Allāh ﷻ.

People who remain steadfast are men in the sight of Allāh ﷻ. They are truly strong people. They are people who have not followed their ego. They have controlled their ego. Even if the whole world is on one side and they have left the way, they do not care. They do not look at that at all.

They continue, keeping on their own way, the way of Allāh ﷻ. They are the beloved servants of Allāh ﷻ. They are the awliyā’ of Allāh ﷻ. When we say awliyā’, everyone can be awliyā’ if they stay steadfast. It is not necessarily by doing karāmah. Being steadfast on the way is the greatest karāmah.

The one who remains steadfast on the way and does not stray from the way is a beloved servant of Allāh ﷻ. He is an awliyā’ of Allāh ﷻ. Awliyā’ means a beloved servant of Allāh ﷻ. If you want to be that beloved servant, don’t look at dunyā, don’t look at this or that. Follow the way of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, follow the way of our ‎Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam so that you can reach Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.

Otherwise, everything in dunyā is temporary. Nothing in this world is forever. Some strange people say forever. Forever, eternity is only in ākhirah. There is no eternity in dunyā. Not even the dunyā will remain; where will eternity be! May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May He ﷻ not stray us from the right way. May we know the right way, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ guide us all. May we not separate from the way, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
