Allāh’s ﷻ Judgement on Embracing Islām

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, “لَيْسَ بَعْدَ الْكُفْرِ ذَنْب”, “Laysa baa’da l-kufri dhanb”, “There is no sin after disbelief.”

The greatest sin is disbelief itself. Being kāfir is the greatest sin. There is nothing greater than it. You cannot call it a sin for a disbeliever to drink alcohol, commit adultery, or eat pork. Indeed, he has already done the greatest of all sins. Disbelief is such that once it is gone, no other sin has any bearing.

Therefore, those who become Muslims are like reborn, starting from scratch. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla forgives everything they’ve done. Their life begins from that moment. They continue on the way of Allāh ﷻ. Because in the world, we see, “He did this, he killed that, he shot this, he did that.” An unbeliever does that.

He’s committed disbelief, he then does whatever he wants. Nothing matters. The greatest thing in the sight of Allāh ﷻ is that. If he embraces Islām, “الإِسلَامُ يَجُبُّ مَا قَبلَه”, “Al-Islam Yajubbu Ma Qablahu”, “Islam effaces previous misdeeds,” says our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Islām forgives everything done before it.

People today have made laws made according to their own minds, and people demand its judgment. But once someone reverts to Islām, becomes a Muslim, it’s like they’re reborn in the sight of Allāh ﷻ. Therefore, the judgment of Allāh ﷻ is the Haqq (right) judgment. Man’s judgment is useless; it only creates problems.

But of course, after being in this world, you will have to abide by whatever they put; you cannot make judgments according to your own mind. Judgment belongs to Allāh ﷻ, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. His ﷻ judgment is separate from worldly judgment. That is, after being honored with Islām, as we said, one is reborn in the sight of Allāh ﷻ and attains that reward.

During the time of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, in the Battle of Khaybar, there was a shepherd. This shepherd embraced Islām. Before even performing a single prayer, he was martyred, and was granted the rank of martyrdom. Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam smiled, saying that this man attained Paradise without even performing a single prayer. So, that’s how the judgments are.

Islām is salvation and happiness for humanity, shukr to Allāh ﷻ. Those who are honored with it attain Allāh’s ﷻ blessing and Allāh’s ﷻ grace. May Allāh ﷻ keep us steadfast and not lead us astray, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allāh at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
