By the Name of Allah, All-Mighty, All-Merciful, Most Beneficent and Most Munificent.

You must protect yourself, O believers, from your enemies, outwardly and inwardly, for this world has become a place where confusion spreads like thick smoke. In our time, people have reached a strange and dangerous condition.

They say that Haqq (truth) is falsehood, and that Batil (falsehood) is truth. They turn realities upside down and they defend the wrong as if it were right. This is the second age of Jahiliyyah (ignorance).

The first age was before the coming of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and now another age of ignorance has risen again, clothed in modern forms but carrying the same blindness of the heart.

Do not occupy yourself with ignorant, square-headed people who can never understand anything, no matter how much you speak. Even among those who are counted as learned, many confuse truth with error and speak from their desires rather than knowledge.

They make strange comparisons and think themselves insightful. They say, for example, “What is the difference? A Hajji goes to greet and kiss a Black Stone saying Allahu Akbar. What does he hope to gain from that? And we salute in front of a black statue.”

Such words are nothing but empty argument, comparing what was never meant to be compared, and dishonouring a symbol honoured by angels and prophets.

Therefore say to them only, “Lakum dinukum wa liya din“, “To you your belief and to me mine.”

Leave them to what they have chosen. Do not argue with them, for debate with the ignorant steals the sweetness of faith from the heart.

You must keep your heart safe. Our age is full of such people and it will only become worse as the time draws near.

The Holy Prophet ﷺ said, “A time will come upon my Ummah when your guides will be people of light, and you will run to please them, and you will give even your lives for them. And another time will come when your guides will be so ugly,” meaning men and women whose faces carry no heavenly light, because they turned away from Allah ﷻ.

When the face loses light, the heart has already darkened. When leaders lose adab with Allah ﷻ, their followers fall into confusion, and darkness follows darkness.

When you look into a mirror, be grateful if Allah ﷻ has given you adab and humility. Ask Him not to make you spiritually ugly, so that hearts do not turn away from you. Whoever turns his face towards Allah and bows in sajdah is always dressed with beauty, for light accompanies obedience.

But the one who turns away, who abandons prayer and forgets his Lord ﷻ, will lose that beauty. Even if the world admires him, his face becomes heavy and dark. Open the graves, and you will see how the faces of those who forgot Allah ﷻ have changed.

Make it a habit to say, “Tubtu wa rajatu ilallah. Rabbi zidna Nuran” , “O Allah increase our lights, O Light of Lights.”

Ask for light from Allah ﷻ, for light is the cloak of faith. Fire cannot burn light. If it could, lamps would not shine. It is light that rules fire, not fire that rules light.

Once, Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiqر came into the presence of the Prophet ﷺ, and at the same moment Abu Jahl entered, the greatest enemy of the Prophet ﷺ.

Abu Bakrر said, “Ya RasulAllah, my spirit and soul are at your feet. You are the most beautiful person I have ever seen.”

And the Prophet ﷺ said, “You are right, O Abu Bakr.”

Then Abu Jahl said, “No, you are the most ugly one.”

And the Prophet ﷺ said, “You are also right, O Abu Jahl.”

The Sahabah were astonished and asked, “How can both be right?”

The Prophet ﷺ said, “Because I am like a mirror. Abu Bakr looked at me and saw his own beauty reflected in my face. Abu Jahl looked and saw his own ugliness reflected.”

A believer carries the light of faith and cannot be ugly. Ugliness belongs to disbelief and rebellion. Beauty is from Allah ﷻ and is given to the hearts that turn to Him.

Whoever walks in His obedience glows with His light, and whoever turns away darkens himself.

May Allah ﷻ dress us with His Nur and keep our faces shining in this world and the next.

Al-Fatiha.

This series was initiated by the SufiHub Team in honour of our beloved Sheikh, the late Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Sattar Khan, who lovingly dedicated himself to transcribing and summarising the daily sohbahs of Mawlana Sheikh Nazimق.

It was through this blessed service that he began his journey on this beautiful Way in 2008, remaining steadfast upon it until his final breath in 2023. Today, his legacy continues at our Zawiyah at A’Posh Bizhub Singapore through his representatives Sidi Shalihin, Ismail, and Syed Muhammad, who humbly carry forward the path he sincerely paved.

We pray that our dear Sheikh Abdul Sattar has been reunited with his beloved Mawlana Sheikh Nazimق and all our Grandshaykhs, and that their light continues to guide us always on the way of Haqq.

The text was originally taken from 2000+ Sohbahs of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim Adil al-Haqqaniق by SufiMus Online. With love and sincere intention, parts of this sohbah have been gently revised by the SufiHub Team for clarity and contextual relevance.

If you wish to share it on your platforms, kindly post it in full and ensure that proper credit is given to all its sources. For this is adab, the very core of our beautiful religion and way.

Should you have any queries or concerns, you are always welcome to reach us at thesufihubteam@gmail.com. We would appreciate it if you could include the subject and relevant details in your email, so we can respond promptly.

Wassalam.
