When Not to Make Easy?

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

[…] You are happy. Because everything is coming from Him ﷻ, everything happens by His ﷻ Will. So for this, you must be happy and thankful, and tell about what Allāh ﷻ gave you from good things.

The most good thing for human beings is to be a believer. AlhamduliLlah, this is what Allāh ﷻ gave us; we are happy with this. We know that Allāh ﷻ gave you also this big favor; He ﷻ made you believers. It is a very precious thing. And we must thank Allāh ﷻ for this by continuously doing what He ﷻ gave us and ordered us with this belief.

To be good first of all with people, with animals, with the planet, with earth, with water. We must be doing good with everything. This is for our benefit. If you respect everything, everyone, every animal, this world would be like paradise. But unfortunately they are not doing so. For this, they are suffering; the whole world is.

So the problem is with us, with human beings. Allāh ﷻ made us the most perfect. He ﷻ created us as the most perfect; in shape, thinking, and behaving. He ﷻ showed us and taught us what we must do in everything. But people are following what they like, and they say it’s freedom.

When your freedom transcends upon another’s freedom, it will be crushed. Because you are going beyond the limit. He has a limit, the other has a limit and so on. All people are going beyond this limit. So the state is becoming more like today’s.

So what is the solution for this? To follow what Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla shows us and tells us to do. Allāh ﷻ says, religion is easy not difficult. Yes, yes. AlhamduliLlah we are [sitting] here. The other side was sunny and hot so we brought the people to this side. They are relaxed and happy now. No need to be torturing them, making them be in difficulty. Then, they won’t be listening, just thinking “It is very hot, there is no place to sit.” AlhamduliLlah now everybody is good and happy.

This is the order of Allāh ﷻ. And it is for everybody: make it easy, He ﷻ said. “يَسِّرُوا ولا تُعَسِّرُوا”, “Yassirū wa-lā Tu‘assiru”, “Make things easy and do not make them difficult”. [Hadith]. Make it easy, don’t make it difficult. Of course, in some places, very rarely, that it can be difficult for people.

But in other times, “فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا”, ‘Fa-inna ma‘a l-‘usri yusra’, ‘For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.’ (Qur’ān 94:05). After difficulty coming easiness, happiness. Like fasting; you fast the whole day and you become thirsty and hungry. But when you break your fast at Maghrib time, it is the (most) happiest [time] and they feel it’s the most delicious food when they eat. Those who don’t fast don’t know this happiness.

And like ḥajj also. Because once in lifetime, it makes people feel as if they are in the Day of Resurrection, with a shroud, hot [weather] and going there. This only is a little bit difficult, but what comes after it is the happiness.

This is about doing good things. But you must, as much as you can, prevent people from doing bad things also. This is the opposite of making it easy for people who want to do good things; to make it not easy for those who want to do bad things. In anything they want to do. Many people these days are doing things you cannot imagine how bad it is, and how much the quantity of bad things people are doing.

So what you know and you can prevent, you must prevent. What you do is good for the one you are preventing from doing bad things. And Allāh ﷻ rewards you for this. Because maybe he will harm himself, or harm other people, or harm society. So it is good to not make it easy for him.

There is an Arab saying, “المال السايب يعلّم السرقة”, “Opportunity makes the thief.” Anything good that is left that you are not looking after, teaches people to steal. This is an Arab saying, “المال السايب يعلّم السرقة”, which means if you leave something [for example] from your clothes or money or anything, not taking care of it, you are teaching people to steal it.

For this, don’t give any chance for these people to learn to do bad things.

They ask, “How can we do so?” We’ve told many times. Now also in these days there are many people who are cheating people, “Give me money, I will make business, I will make this and this goodness. This is a good occasion to get many. You give me one, I give you ten.” So people get cheated. This one takes from you, takes from the other, from the other. He learned to do this.

We are living in a time when people forgot good manners, honor or any good thing. They are not thinking about this. So slowly, slowly when somebody cannot do a bad thing, in shā’a Llāh, Allāh ﷻ makes him to at least come back to the way of humanity.

AlhamduliLlah, we last came here 9 years ago. This is the second time. AlhamduliLlah, we are happy, in shā’a Llāh, Muslims and especially ṭarīqah people are growing, AlhamduliLlah. And ṭarīqah people are making people to be happy with Islām. Because they have a wrong understanding of Islām in every place. Even in Islamic countries, they are also not understanding Islām.

We must be telling people about ṭarīqah and Islām, and in shā’a Llāh, Allāh ﷻ opens their hearts to be believers, in shā’a Llāh. This is the road for Paradise. Paradise – in dunyā also Paradise. When you have satisfaction and happiness in your heart, you are in Paradise here also. And if you don’t have this and you have a whole city full of money, you are in hell.

For this, we are, for the sake of Allāh ﷻ, calling people to happiness. We are traveling for the sake of Allāh ﷻ, to make people save themselves from this fire of bad things. Every time somebody does a bad thing, fire comes to his heart; one more fire.

Of course, there is a chance for people who do this to repent and ask forgiveness from Allāh ﷻ when they are in this world, before dying, Allāh ﷻ forgives them. But after one dies, it finishes. So, in shā’a Llāh, may Allāh ﷻ give hidayah (guidance) for all people, in shā’a Llāh.

Thank you for listening. May Allāh ﷻ bless you. May Allāh ﷻ keep you safe, and make your family, your children, your neighbors, your country to be believers, in shā’a Llāh.

Wa min Allah at-tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
