Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

It is obligatory for all of us to honor our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Honoring our Prophet ﷺ means that the mercy and forgiveness of Allāh ﷻ will be upon us. Those who do not know have lost. Because Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla created all these worlds for his ﷺ sake.
Therefore, to honor the people of dunyā is either for material benefit or because of shayṭān’s deception. If mankind is to honor someone, then he should honor what is for the sake of Allāh ﷻ. We should honor the people who worship Allāh ﷻ, those who show the way, who save people from disbelief. Because īmān is the most precious thing.
Those who help people bringing them to īmān, those who teach those who do not know are those who came after our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, the Companions, the Caliphs, Ahlu l-Bayt. It is good to honor them.
Whom is it not good to honor? Honoring who does what Allāh ﷻ does not want is a useless, not beneficial and harmful act. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May Allāh ﷻ show the right way to people. Pursuing what’s not right, the useless things that are in vain, honoring, respecting and valuing people who are of no benefit, as we said, most of the time doesn’t benefit you. Most of the time, it is harm.
Nowadays people honor people who are famous; any kind of fame, no matter whom they are. They strive to be like them. They make people honor and respect them. But as we said, to honor those who are not on the way of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is of no benefit at all. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. They are things that people’s egos honor. If you leave the ego free, it will make you perish, may Allāh ﷻ protect us.
May Allāh ﷻ protect us from the evil of our egos. And may He ﷻ give people mind and understanding so that they may know what is good and what is bad, and give value accordingly. There are many people who value valueless things, tinplate, rocks and soil but do not value jewelry and gold.
May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May Allāh ﷻ make us from those who value them, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
