Read Sultanق’s Sohbah here:
May Allāh ﷻ bless our feast. May it be accepted in the sight of Allāh ﷻ. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla shows the angels on this feast [the rewards] for what Muslims did and He ﷻ gets happy. Therefore, may it be blessed.
This is from the real feasts. There are many things that count as holidays now. None of them has neither virtue, nor barakah, nor anything. Things made precious by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla are valuable. The rest doesn’t have any value. Even though they seem valuable for some time, it becomes clear that it’s worthless later. People waste their time. They waste their lives.
Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, today is ‘Īd. And shukr to Allāh ﷻ, they say there are two ‘Īds: ‘Īdu l-fiṭr and Jum‘ah; that is a feast too. As it is a feast, some people who know only by hearing say there must be no wedding between two ‘Īds. They say marriage is not made. That is not between ‘Īdu l-fiṭr and ‘Īdu ’Adḥā but Jum‘ah. As Jum‘ah is a Muslim holiday, there is no chance, no time in between. It is ok and permissible, but there is not enough time. People might claim some things that are not a sin as sinful or call permissible things as not permissible. That’s not important.
Shukr to Allāh ﷻ what’s important is that we have two feasts today. And the third one is the birthday of Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim according to the Gregorian calendar. The 21st of April is the blessed day when he came to this world. That is a means of joy and relief for us. Because it is as the āyah we recited in the khuṭbah a while ago. Awliyā’u Llāh –
“أَلَا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَاءَ اللَّهِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ”, ‘Alā inna awliyā’a Llāhi lā khawfun a’layhim wa-lā hum yaḥzanūn’, ‘Verily on the friends of Allah there is no fear, nor shall they grieve.’ (Qur’ān 10:62). Awliya of Allāh ﷻ have no fear. They have no sadness. They are afraid of Allāh ﷻ. They are the people who believe in Allāh ﷻ and fear Him ﷻ. There is good tidings for them both here and hereafter. It is a big thing.
Because people dive into dunyā and think they can find everything in dunyā. They forget about ākhirah. Everything is good for Awliyā’u Llāh in dunyā as well. Allāh ﷻ helps them. And He ﷻ gave good tidings to them about ākhirah. “لَا تَبْدِيلَ لِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ”, “Lā tabdīla li-kalimāti llāh”, “No change is there in the words of Allah” (Qur’an 10:64). The word of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla cannot be changed. The promise of Allāh ﷻ is true.
Therefore, as the third reason for happiness today, we are celebrating and making shukr to Allāh ﷻ for standing at his foothills. There are hundred thousands, millions of people all over the world who hold on to his foothills for salvation. We make shukr to Allāh ﷻ for being with him.
It is said in ḥadīth sharīf, the most beloved people of Allāh ﷻ – People are all “عِيَالُ اللّهِ”, “I’yalu Llah”, the servants created by Allāh ﷻ. And the most beloved people are “أَنْفَعُهُمْ لِعِيَالهِ”, “Anfa’uhum li-I’yalih”. People who have benefit to His ﷻ servants are the most beloved people in the presence and sight of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.
Awliya means walī, a beloved, a person who is loved. And the most important thing for us is not to be loved by this and that one, but to be loved by Allāh ﷻ. As long as Allāh ﷻ loves you, everyone will love you. If Allāh ﷻ doesn’t love you, do whatever you want, no one will care about you or love you. Allāh ﷻ makes others love those whom He ﷻ loves. Of course, it’s important to be loved by good people. And it is better not to be loved by people who are not good. It is a favour too so that good ones are with good ones. And the bad ones will be good if Allāh ﷻ guides them.
The door of goodness, the door of forgiveness and the door of repentance are not closed. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is the one who forgives mistakes. You make one mistake in dunyā, and even though you repent and ask for forgiveness, they will throw you in jail or you will carry its punishment whatever it is. There is no other option. But Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is forgiving.
Therefore, join the way of Allāh ﷻ so that you become from the beloved people of Allāh ﷻ and attain those good tidings. May you have goodness here and hereafter. This is the promise of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
