The Wisdom of Mountains

When you visit ‘awliyā’, the himmah of the holy ones is present. Shukr to Allāh ﷻ for visiting them. We’ve been outside Istanbul for three or four days for visiting ‘awliyā’ and holy ones, and it’s been a bit like khalwah (seclusion), far from the brothers. But sometimes khalwah is necessary for a person, for contemplation.

Most ‘awliyā’ are on the mountaintops; their tombs and maqams. Mountains also have their wisdom. Mountains are important. Both for dunyā and for īmān. Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, before the message descended, before the revelation, was in Hira Cave.

It is the mountain overlooking Mecca, Jabal an-Nur. He would worship in the cave. Sometimes he would stay for days or even for a month at the top of those mountains. So mountains have a secret, a wisdom. There comes manifestations and emanations.

Therefore, in shā’a Llāh, we too made our visit imitating them. May Allāh ﷻ accept it. May it be a means for goodness, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ accept our du’ā’s. May Allāh ﷻ strengthen our īmān.

May He ﷻ grant us all kinds of things that will strengthen our īmān, in shā’a Llāh. Because always with shukr and du’ā’, goodness increases, barakah increases and īmān increases. Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, we went and came back safely.

Thanks be to Allāh ﷻ. May Allāh ﷻ grant us and our brothers barakah, safety and shifa’, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
