Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

(Qur’ān 33:72)
“Innā Arađnā Al-‘AmānataAlá As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđi Wa Al-Jibāli Fa’abayna ‘An Yaĥmilnahā Wa ‘Ashfaqna Minhā Wa Ĥamalahā Al-‘Insānu ۖ ‘Innahu Kāna Žalūmāan Jahūlāan”
“Indeed, we offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, and they declined to bear it and feared it; but man [undertook to] bear it. Indeed, he was unjust and ignorant.” Sadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is saying, this trust of servanthood to Allāh ﷻ, even mountains didn’t accept this order. Mountains and rocks; nothing was able to carry this trust as it is a big burden. Mankind said, “I can.”
They can but they are ignorant, says Allāh ﷻ. They are oppressors and ignorant. Because this trust, not all mankind can carry it. Only Prophets can carry it. Through Prophets it is made lighter for people so that they can handle it. And most don’t even do that.
Mankind does whatever is easy, comfortable and suits their desires. Being on the way of Allāh ﷻ and doing things ordered by Allāh ﷻ is difficult for people. Many people make various pretexts to escape from that.
[…] While reciting the Qu’ran, if you make a mistake, there’s no problem because it is Mahfuz. It is preserved by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. If you maybe read it wrong or forget, there’s no problem. But for the ḥadīth, you must say it correctly.
For this, we read this ayah which means when Allāh ﷻ created dunyā, He ﷻ made some order, some secret. Allāh ﷻ told the mountains, sky, earth, everything to carry it. They didn’t accept, “We cannot carry this; it’s too heavy. We cannot carry this.” So only human beings accepted.
Why? Because they are ignorant and oppressors. This is the attribute of human beings. Of course, there is the exception of prophets, good people and the beloved ones for Allāh ﷻ. But the majority are like this. They accepted it but they are not following this order, not doing what must be done when they accepted and said yes.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla created the souls and were asked, “Who am I, and who are you?” Some of them did not accept but in the end they accepted; all of them. In that time, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gave this order and all of them accepted, but later most of them changed. They are not following what they promised.
For this, in our life, it is important to be our whole life in this way. To follow what Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla ordered us. If you don’t follow, you will be outside, you break your promise and you won’t be an acceptable one, you won’t be a good one in the Divine Presence of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla only loves the people who are following His ﷻ order. Sometimes people say, “Allāh ﷻ doesn’t love us.” Allāh ﷻ loves you but you don’t love yourself. You’ve done this to yourself. Allāh ﷻ has shown you, given you everything, every good thing, and you are going against this.
This is one of the attributes of human beings, to not stay in the way and what they promise. Many times, since centuries, the whole history of human beings is full of these people. And nobody lived until now. It’s just a short life and they are finished.
Then, they see the reality; the reality of life and what Allāh ﷻ showed them. And they will be in regret for this; what they didn’t do.
This is for common people, Muslims and non-Muslims, are like this. But also, there are some people who proud over others. Maybe believer people, Muslim people say, “I am like this, I am this, I am Shaykh, I am like this.”
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla said, you must only do what you can do. Don’t put upon yourself heaviness. Don’t ask for something that will become difficult for you.
Many people are not happy with their situation, they like to be bigger or higher or more famous. Especially people of this time, they like to be famous everywhere. They do anything, good or bad, only to become famous.
For this, there’s no need to do what you cannot do. People are trying to push each other to become higher and higher. But this has no benefit for you. If you do this, you only do it for your ego. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is not happy with this, Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is not happy with this. Only for your ego, you like to be higher.
Maybe for common people, they maybe want to be like MP or president or other things. For ṭarīqah people, they also want to be – many people are asking, “How can I be Shaykh? How can I be an awliyā’?” This is very easy to become. You must only follow what Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is saying and don’t think about other things.
If Allāh ﷻ gives you your provision, your rizq, you are happy with your family and you are doing your ‘ibādah, this is the biggest favor from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. To continue with this until your last breath is the greatest reward for you.
You must be trying to be like this, not looking to go up, down or anything. You must only look after yourself, your brothers, your family; everything must be perfect for you.
No need to jump, to try to be higher and higher. Only if you are in this way – there is a saying, “أَجَلُّ الْكَرَامَاتِ دَوَامُ التَّوْفِيقِ”, “Ajallu l-karāmāt dawāmu t-tawfīq”. The biggest miracle is to be on the same way without making it less; there’s no need to also make it higher. Only this is enough for you.
If you do this until the end, you are a winner. When Allāh ﷻ wants you to be higher, He ﷻ opens. If not, you are also a beloved one for Allāh ﷻ if you continue your whole life like this.
May Allāh ﷻ keep us in this way; not to follow our ego. Because there are also many people who are praising themselves. “I am like this, I am like that, I am Awliyā’, I am Qutub, I am Shaykh, I am wakīl.” This is also not a good thing.
Only Who praises Himself is Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Even when Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said, “I am the highest one among human beings; and this is no boast.” “لا فَخر”, “Lā fakhr”, “It is no boast” he ﷺ said. He ﷺ must say this, but he’s ﷺ also saying “Lā fakhr” which means there’s no proudness for me.
Only Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, ‘وَلَهُ الْكِبْرِيَاءُ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ’, ‘Wa Lahu Al-Kibriyā’u Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđ’, ‘And His (Alone) is the Majesty in the heavens and the earth.’ (Qur’ān 45:37) Every proudness is for Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla in heavens and earth and everywhere.
He who praises himself is not an acceptable one, anywhere in ṭarīqah or not ṭarīqah, nobody likes the one who praises himself.
May Allāh ﷻ keep us away from this attribute, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
