Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatuLlahi wa barakatuhu
Mubarak for the month of Maulid. Tomorrow is the day of Maulid, mubarak to all of us. Alhamdulillah, we are from the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. We are a lucky people, a fortunate nation.
In a Hadith al-Qudsi, Allah ﷻ says, “I looked into My Nur and I chose a Nur from it, and I called it Muhammad ﷺ.” This is how the Nur of Hazreti Muhammad ﷺ was created. Alhamdulillah, we are very fortunate for this.
Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is the perfect human being for all time, from Hazreti Adam (AS) until the end of time, from azal to abad. He ﷺ is the most perfect of all creation. Allah ﷻ granted him ﷺ many great gifts, and through him, also granted many blessings to his ummah. Hazreti Muhammad ﷺ is the blessed and beloved one from the beginning to the end of creation.
When Hazreti Aminah, the mother of the Prophet ﷺ, was pregnant with him ﷺ, she would see a different prophet in her dream every month, each giving her good tidings about her son. On the night of his ﷺ birth, she said she felt no hardship at all during her pregnancy. It was light and easy.
On the night between the 11th and 12th of Rabi al-Awwal, the angels came to witness the blessed birth. It was like an Eid in the heavens. Angels were everywhere, proclaiming that the Prophet of the End of Time had been born. The houris came to assist as midwives, along with a human midwife. According to the maulid, Hazreti Maryam, Hazreti Asiya, and Hazreti Hajar were also present in spirit during the birth.
Hazreti Aminah said that during the birth, she saw lights all around, unlike anything she had seen before. The sky opened up and she witnessed many things. These were not just visions but realities. She saw palaces from Damascus, Iraq, and Fars.
When she gave birth to the Prophet ﷺ, he was in sajdah, and she heard him ﷺ saying something. She leaned in to hear and found him ﷺ saying, “Ummati, ummati.” From his first breath, he ﷺ was already calling out for his nation. Alhamdulillah.
Jibril (AS) then took him ﷺ around all of creation. That night, shaytan was furious and in despair because the Prophet ﷺ had been born. Among the Jewish tribes of Madinah, one man declared that the star of Ahmad had risen. So many signs occurred on that night.
The idols in the Kaaba fell face down. The sacred fire that had been burning in Persia for a thousand years was extinguished. A lake that had been worshipped went dry. Kisra, the Persian ruler who was worshipped as a god, saw his throne crumble.
That night, so many blessings descended.
There is also the story of a King in a distant land who had a daughter afflicted with physical and mental illness. He kept her hidden from the people and sought a cure. He carried an idol with him and prayed through it. One night, while sitting on the roof of his palace praying for his daughter, he saw the sky illuminated with Nur.
At first, he thought it was a dream, but it was real. When the light faded, he turned to his idol and saw it had fallen face down. The idol then spoke to him, saying that the last Prophet of the End of Time had been born, and that all idols would fall because of him.
The King asked the idol, “Where is this Prophet?” The idol replied, “He is born in Mecca.” Immediately, love for the Prophet ﷺ entered his heart, and he hoped that his daughter would be healed if he could take her there. As he was preparing to go, he went to his daughter and found her completely healed. She told him she had seen light and heard that the Prophet of the End of Time had been born. She prayed through his ﷺ honour and Allah ﷻ granted her shifa.
Without waiting for dawn, the King and his daughter set out for Mecca on camels. An angel folded the earth for them, and they arrived quickly by morning. The King asked if a child had been born the previous night. He was told, “Yes, an orphan of Abdul Muttalib, his name is Muhammad.” Abdul Muttalib was the grandfather of the Prophet ﷺ.
The King went to the house, knocked, and asked Hazreti Aminah for permission to see the child. She refused at first, but he pleaded, explaining his long journey and deep yearning. She allowed him inside. He entered and said, “Amantu bika, I believe in you. Accept me as part of your ummah.” He then looked at the baby, and as he looked again and again, Hazreti Aminah told him to leave as Abdul Muttalib had not given permission for anyone to approach.
But the King asked to look at his ﷺ face one final time. Upon seeing his ﷺ blessed face again, the King’s soul left his body from the intense love. He passed away, having seen the Prophet ﷺ only once as a baby.
There are many stories like this about the Prophet ﷺ.
One day, when the Prophet ﷺ was sitting with his companions, he ﷺ said, “Send my salam to my beloved ones.” The companions asked, “Are we not your beloved ones?” He ﷺ replied, “You are my companions. My beloved ones are those who love me and believe in me without seeing me.” These are his true beloved ones, and to them he ﷺ sends his salam.
Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, Ya Rasul Allah ﷺ!
Al-Fatiha.
